I love to catch the moon during the daylight hours; makes it seem more special, somehow. These are wonderful photos for Sky Watch.

Thanks for your visit to my SWF post.

I love seeing the moon during the day. There is something really special about it. You can see why people through the centuries have worshiped her.

I think the moon gives it a wonderful touch. I never have any success photographing the moon except in the daytime! :) Light and airy clouds, like chifon.

Hey love pics. Was just reading about your inventory. I get the inventory done and then it fizzles out and I never do it again. I used to do the grocery game and got out of it too. I need to get back in, groceries are killing us.

Gill: What a neat shot of the Moon in the great blue sky. Sometimes things are there in the sky and we fail to notice them until we start to really look.

During periods of dryness, such as during periods of high pressure, as the seasons change into fall and winter, the convection (clouds) are limited, so the sky appears crisp... well, that also enhances the view of what we see in the sky... the stars are more crisp, as less obstructions (moisture, haze) are present. It also makes the moon more visible.

Now, what we see of the moon is the sun's reflection of light bouncing off of it, lighting it up. It is easier to see at night, of course, because it's just the light shining, but when you have ultra clear dry conditions, you see better. Since the Earth rotates, the moon rises and sets much like the sun for us... it rises in our eastern sky and sets to the west. Sometimes it doesn't set until after daylight hours, and sometimes, we are lucky enough to see it! :O)

Great shots!
