Not enough time in the day.....

to do everything I am wanting done at the moment it seems.  I was just talking to my friend Jane about this the other day, about the fact that just because we don't have kids at home doesn't make things easier.  We are still busy bees most of the time and some days we never stop.

I am so behind visiting everyone's blogs I am so surprised anyone visits mine anymore.  Part of blogging etiquette is to visit and comment on other peoples blogs.  Its something I love to do, but I am so behind in doing that, so I do apologise for not visiting your blog.

One of the jobs to do this week was to finish the baby quilt.  I completed it on Wednesday morning and as I had used my blue washable marker on it, I had to wash it. It is meant to be washed and used so no problems there.  The photos I took of it are when it is still wet though.  So it will be lighter in colour when dry.

I don't know the sex of the baby, the mother-to-be is not finding out.  I do think this is more of a boy quilt than a girl quilt though.  The quilting lines are straight in "real life," it just the way the quilt was laying.

I always like to see the back of the quilt.  As you can see it's a diamond pattern.  It was super simple to do and didn't take a long time to do.

Simple for you maybe Gill! It's gorgeous. I';ll stick to pens and pencils thank you and leave those more talented individuals to the quilting.

Great finish!! It will be perfect for a boy or girl, I am sure the Mommy to be will go gaga over it!! I think we all find it hard to fit everything in most days, at least around here thats the case.Ha

Hi Gill, I've still been lurking around, but had no time to comment, so I totally understand how you feel. The quilt is lovely by the way, I'm sure it will suit a boy or girl, it just depends on what other colours are around it such as room colour, toys, sheets etc.

Cute, very cute, and I'm in the same boat as you with being to busy to comment. It happens. Enjoy your sewing.

Lovely baby quilt.
When doing the cross hatching on a quilt I use the green painter's masking tape to mark the lines. Just line up the edge with the intersections and sew.

Gorgeous quilt. So perfect for either sex. Yep, we agree on the time thing. I am reading and replying as I stuff a tuna pita into me. My idea of multi-tasking!! I'm busier now that I'm retired than I was when I worked full-time. Not how did that happen??? Spring is coming and then you will be even busier. Yikes! I don't know how you do it all. Hang in there! :)

Beautiful quilt and I agree with Jane; I love the woodland theme and the classic colours which would be great for any age or gender!

LOVE the quilt! As far is it being more boy-like -- my granddaughter would love it but then she has a thing for owls and such. Great job, Gill.

Gill,
I just love this baby quilt. The colours and animals look beautiful together.
What a lucky mother to be. You should be so proud of your work.
Where did you ever find such cute material?

Beautiful quilt, the colours are lovely and anyone would be thrilled to receive it. I'm terrible at visiting blogs, just never enough time and it's all too easy to read a post but not bother to leave a comment. But I do enjoy reading your blog and appreciate the time you take to write about what's going on in your life. Gill xx
