A traditional Thanksgiving dinner is Turkey with all the trimmings and pumpkin pie for dessert. However due to being crazy busy and the temperature being so warm that our a/c came on (I had forgotten to turn it off for the season) cooking a turkey and all the trimmings didn't seem like my idea of fun. So this is what we had instead:
Yep, BBQ which consisted of burgers, roasted potatoes, Cesar salad, coleslaw and bean salad. Dessert was homemade peach pie with ice cream. A traditional Thanksgiving meal, no but it was tasty. However I forgot to buy more Ketchup, so that is why it is upside down so everyone could squeeze the last bit out of the bottle, and you know where the kids were sitting by the can's of coke!!!
How ever we were thankful, as at least we could afford to have a nice dinner shared with our family. A lot of people in the world wouldn't be able to do that.
Enjoy your Sunday.

That looks yummy -you are making me feel hungry !
Being thankful & surrounded by friends & family is what it's all about!! :) Looks wonderful!
I think that looks like a SUPER meal! Something everyone would enjoy. Getting together is the main thing! ~Liz
Yum, I'd pick bbq over turkey any day (we eat it about once every 2 months here, so gets old!)
We don't have a traditional Thanksgiving meal either. Our pumpkin pie is made with carrots as I seldom see pumpkin here and turkeys are usual only sold around Christmas. But we know it is our Thanksgiving meal and that's what matters to us. Or at least to me!
Hi Gill,
This looks good!
BTW I have problems posting on your account. I tried to get your slowcooker recipes, but could not leave a comment for some time. But, this time I get into a different screen and this might work!
Kind regards,
Janny

happy thanksgiving to you! I think there is nicer than a BBQ. You are right it doesnt matter what you eat as long as you are surrounded by the people you love, and there is food on the table.
Gil, my friend was having the same problem until she switched her browser from Internet Explorer to Google Chrome. You are using what browser? Happy Thanksgiving Weekend, the burgers looked wonderful, Rob & I had footlong hotdogs and salad !
Happy Thanksgiving! I always forget Canada's is earlier than ours.
looks yummy! we are having out t-dinner today as it was too hot yesterday, we hit the high in the country. My family looks forward to a traditional turkey dinner so that is what they will get, to be honest it is almost as hard to do as a barbecue. it was slow accessing your comments so there may be an issue somewhere?
