Want to hear something crazy? My two oldest kids absolutely LOVE Brussels Sprouts! Each birthday, the birthday person gets to pick their own meal. My two oldest always request Brussels Sprouts! I don't like them. I don't know where they get it from. They like other things in that family, too....cabbage, (now, *I* do like cabbage), kale, broccoli, greens (collard, swiss chard, etc). It's all good to me. I'm glad they do. Just surprised by it. The birthday requests crack me up every year!

OMG I never saw so many recipes for Brussel Sprouts. Unfortunately they remind me of a movie I saw as a little girl, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". Those "pods" and these sprouts were just too close for comfort and I have never ate them since. lol

sprouts. Mmmh. My other half dislikes. Teenager used to love them ( as a small boy they were the favourite- he used to ask for them all the time) but appears to have gone off them a bit now. I love them love them but they dislike me in a big way digestively ( no further info required) so I have to treat myself to one or two. Sigh. Recipes look great

Ooooo bubble and squeak..lovely.
Course the best way to cook it is just the mashed sprouts and potato shallow fried until it goes so crispy it is almost burnt with a dollop of tomato sauce (homemade sauce even better...) Yum..Perfect comfort food

Hi Gill, we love those sprouts around here and they are part of our traditional Thanksgiving meal. With so many interesting ways to prepare them, we might see more of them on the table, thanks.

Oh I love Brussel Sprouts. Makes me think of Christmas and Boxing Day fry ups. One year my Dad bought us a sandwich toaster and Boxing Day morning we were getting up and smelled food cooking. Went downstairs to find our children making toasted sandwiches full of the leftover vegetables including sprouts. We had to eat them and funnily enough they were very tasty.

Must try some of these fabulous recipes.

Do you remember Terry Wogan's breakfast show? There are jokes on it all the time about sprouts at time of year. Apparently it's time to put them on now for Christmas dinner so they're nice and soggy!

I hate brussel sprouts! Would never think of having them on a holiday, such as Thanksgiving or Christmas. It would ruin the meal. I think my husband likes them, but I never fix them for him.

Oh my, should have seen this post before. I absolutely LOVE Brussels Sprouts, in fact we had them tonight for dinner but I didn't do anything more with them other than to put a little butter on after steaming. Can't wait to try some of these recipes.
