Vacation Booked..........

We have been humming and haa-ing over where to go for our vacation this year.

Some places that came up were New York State.  Close to home and I would love to go to the Corning Museum of Glass.  We then thought we would head over to New York for a few days and then cross the border back into Canada and drive home via the lake.

We then took a look at Ocean City, Maryland.  However a condo on the beach was flipping expensive, but again it's a place we have never been and there was plenty to do it seemed.

We had the best vacation ever, other than the no-see-ums at the Isle of Palms in South Carolina.  Again for the building that we stayed in it was super expensive, but as it was in September 2008, then no doubt the price would go up.  You can see here on this post where we stayed.

We then decided to "look for a place" in the Savannah area as we have never been there before.  We checked out places in Hilton Head and Tybee Island.  I managed to narrow it down to two places one in Hilton Head and one in Tybee Island.

We have ended up booking a condo with clear ocean views in Tybee Island for 10 days in September.  As it is a 16 1/2 hour drive from our home we will drive for around 10 hours the first day and have a shorter drive the second day.

So have any of you been to Tybee Island?  Any places we should or should not go too?  We will of course go into Savannah, any places we should go too there?

How do you pronounce Tybee by the way?  Is it TIE-BEE, or TEE-BEE?

Are you planning on going away on vacation this year?

No advice, just to say it all sounds very exciting. xx

No help from me regarding pronunciation, it could be either way. I have paid my deposit for a vacation to Denmark, Norway and Sweden, in June. Looking forward to that.

Sounds wonderful! No vacations planned for us unless we get an invitation to visit our family in BC. We were there last September and usually end up going every other year.

I've never been to Tybee Island but it sounds lovely!

We will be going to England/UK (either Scotland or Ireland, to be decided) in October. It was supposed to be May but things were too stressful and chaotic to plan so soon.

The Corning Glass Museum has been on my wish list for ages.
Last year we did the Great Lakes drive, then on to Manitoba to see where our ancestors lived. We LOVE N.Ontario and kind of want to do it again. But we want to go down east too. My daughter and I went to New Hampshire a few years ago and LOVED LOVED LOVED that.
We have some renovations due to a fire coming up so we're not sure where, when or if we will get out of the province this year.

Pronounced TIE-BEE. Have fun. Sounds like a long drive but then again, we drove 1,358 miles in Dec. to PA. lolz We live only 13 hours from Tybee now.

Good choice avoiding Ocean City MD....too crowded but Sept. wouldn't be as bad as in the high season.

Johns Island outside of Charleston is home to the Angel Oak tree. Might be worth a small road trip from Savannah if you like that sort of thing. And there are interesting things in the low country down there along the way. https://www.charleston-sc.gov/153/Angel-Oak

I have a childhood friend who has moved to Savannah and I went to visit her a few years ago. It is a beautiful city. Lots of beautiful trees and gardens. We took a bus tour around the city. She took me out to Tybee Island and we ate near the beach. September sounds like a great time to go!

We will be heading to Cypress Hills this September and Moose Mountain for the family reunion in July. I want to make a trip to visit Kurt in Alberta for a bit as well. Then of course we can always spend a few days with Kris in the city and give him a helping hand with a few things.

God bless.

Sounds like it’s going to be fabulous adventure.
No holidays planned this year. Just spending time at our farm.

Sounds like a great trip - I've always wanted to go to Savannah!
I'm hoping to take my first trip to Paris in November with a friend. We had originally though we'd go in May but have decided to wait until after all the Olympic chaos is over.
