That was a question asked at another person's blog the other day.
My answer was: to have the house renovated before we die!!
That same person had a five year plan, which got me thinking whether or not we should have a five year plan.
I sort of have a 5 year renovation plan:
2012
Finish off new basement
Gut mud room and start afresh in there, put new siding on outside of mud room
Put new roof shingles on garage
2013
Redo all the Family Room, and new siding on outside of family room
Build a new shed
Replace deck
2014
Redo the upstairs bathroom - major expensive
2015
Redo the kitchen and bathroom beside the kitchen - major expensive
2016
Living room
Garage
2017
It will be probably time to put on a new roof on the house
Of course all that is not written in stone and could change any minute, but at least it is a plan of action.

HI Gill, are you feeling better?
I am hoping to be retired within 3 years - then do lots of travel. But my short term plan is to get over this flu thing I have! lol!

We have a five year plan too, started by putting the new roof on the house. So much more to do but one step at a time I guess.
Your home will look wonderful when all s said & done I'm sure!! :) Hope you're feeling better!
I hope you're feeling better today! That's quite the five year plan! My goal in life is to have a family. I'm just going with the flow if things and it will take however long it takes, but I'd ideally like to have had my babies by the time I'm 35! Time will tell...
Heh Gill, hope you're feeling better. We haven't set 5 year goals, however we recently wrote out our goals for 2 years. We will diligently work on those over the next 2 years and like you, they aren't set in stone. I love having them written out, knowing that I'm working on them. Hugs
I only had two things on my list,
raise kids
pay off mortgage.
Now iv done those i feel like a ship without a rudder.
I should really get some other goals.
I honestly dont know where to start.
Love your goal though, simple and achievable.
