One of the main jobs of Monday was to wash all the glass blocks of the shower in the upstairs bathroom. That job has now been promoted to the job I hate to do most. What a pig of a job, and if anyone out there is thinking of building shower walls out of glass blocks DON'T!! I hate our shower but we don't have the money to change it, so I have to live with it.
I also stripped down the bathroom window and cleaned it both inside and out. Not a job I relished while there were 100 km per hour winds and I was hanging out of the window to clean the top window, it doesn't move. Still it's another job off my list. I also tied a bag full of vinegar around the vanity tap to see if it would dissolve the build up. I have had luck doing that before and it is environmentally friendly.
Back here I wrote about testing a new product on the market for cleaning the toilet. Three weeks later here is my thoughts on it. If you never clean a toilet or really, really hate cleaning the toilet and only do it once a year because it is past being disgusting, then this product is for you. Mind you, you will still probably forget to step on the peddle to make the cleaner come out of it.
If you don't mind cleaning the toilet, or know if you don't clean it, no one else will, then this product is not for you. Why, well you still have to clean the toilet seat. You still have to clean the rim of the toilet, especially if you have men or boys in the house. I also found you need to use a brush in the toilet bowl regardless to scrub away any stains or marks on the bowl. So I wasn't saving any time at all by using this. I am a big fan of the Scrubbing Bubbles line of products, just not this one. I will be telling BzzAgent this also, as that is who I tested it for as I am a BzzAgent.

I use a glass cleaner I mix myself. It gets excellent results on soapy shower glass with ease:
Mix your own cleaner of 1/4 cup (2 fl oz/60 ml) vinegar in 3 cups (24 fl oz/750 ml) warm water. For extremely dirty windows, mix 1 tbsp. ammonia and 3 tbsp. vinegar in 1 qt. (32 fl oz/1 l) warm water
Why do 'The experts' design stuff that is so hard to clean.
Ah yes, glass bricks. We had them in the stairwell at our old house (instead of the beautiful stained glass window that was supposed to be there). Didn't like them at all. I think cleaning the bathroom is one of the worst jobs. Whoever designs all those unnessary nooks and cranies on sanitary equipment has never cleaned a shower or toilet in their life. xx
I HATE cleaning the bathroom...period! I hate crawiling around the toilet to wipe the floor...ughhh! That said, I am with you...those toilet cleaners where you still have to clean the toilet, aren't worth the money.
We have very hard water here "Just North of Wiarton & South of the Checkerboard" Gill, so Bowl Brite is the only chemical toilet bowl cleaner that will work for us. I would dread the day if they would ever NOT make it. Thank you for comments on my blog by the way, I do not know why people have such a difficult time doing so, but I get lots of reports that they do.... however Mercedes is 13 weeks old just making her first International Debut yesterday .... what a girl ! Enjoy your day now that "dirty" job is out of the way !
When we renovate our bathroom (it really is the ugliest one I have ever seen)I want it to be as easy to clean as possible. Anybody know of a self cleaning bathroom?

Wow I have always loved the look of these glass showers I guess they are not as pretty when you have to clean them. Since we live in the country the hard water would certainly make them look bad. I never thought of that. Thanks for reminding me everything that is pretty may not last. B
That's a nice bathroom, Gill. I think brushing is the best way for toilet pans.
Glass bricks..I really like them although they aren't in my home. Hope all is okay with you. Hugs
But it's a beautiful bathroom!! I don't mind cleaning our glass shower, it makes me happy. I don't like cleaning the toilet but since no one else will, it falls to me.
Sounds like an annoying job, but I love how the glass blocks look!
Too bad they don't supply a maid with the cleaning product!
If there's one thing I'd get rid of it's the shower. I hate it with a vengeance. When we got a new bathroom installed I wanted rid of it but my husband insisted on a new one. Fine for him, he doesn't have to clean it. It's just plain glass but the frames seem to collect grunge. I also hate the way that the stuff around the edges discolours. Yuk! Guess who has to remove it and replace it. Husband did it once and made such a mess I have done it since. We must have a water leak somewhere as I have to replace it every few months. It's a bit like icing a cake really but much more messy! Whoever invented the shower should be shot. Baths are much easier to clean and so much more relaxing.
Coke (cola) is great in a really yukky toilet, also a denture tablet and left overnight can help for those really nasty stains.
I give my bathroom a swish every morning...makes things much easier.
