The heat is too much for me........

on Wednesday, it got to much for me, and I ended up with a horrible headache and felt very lightheaded.  The house is hot now, luckily the bedroom isn't too bad, at least we can sleep at night.

Where dh is contracted out too they make steel pipe, so when the steel goes through the big machines, they have to cool the hot steel with water, so its humidity on top of humidity.  On Tuesday it hit 53 oC (127 oF) in the factory and they did send the workers home.  On Wednesday it only hit 49 oC (120 oF) so they weren't sent home!!

I will be praying for rain, as I am so over this heat, and of course the a/c guys are crazy busy, and we are not a priority!!  By the way I have got Bell Canada coming on Friday afternoon to move our satellite dish as our signal strength is 50% at the most, therefore we are always getting cut off channels.  Dh called the other week to try and sort this out and basically got no where.  Due to the heat I was in no mood to hear their excuses and try and put the blame back on us.  Obviously by my tone of voice the guy knew not to mess around with me and decided to send someone out at no charge to move the dish!!

I am also having issues with Blogger and having problems accessing other blogs and posting comments.  It's too hot for me to deal with at the moment.  So sorry for not popping by..........

Hello Gill
Are there not recognised OH&S temperature levels for companies like your husbands? From what you wrote it sounds like its about 50c.
Heatwaves never bring out the best in people lol
Businesses like air con always have a hard time keeping up with demand - sometimes winter seems to be the best time down here to have it installed but then I suppose all those companies sell heating as well in Canada. Is that true?
Take care

Oh Gill I sure feel for you. This heat is getting to everyone. Working in this heat is horible, I feel for your hubby. News says it is going to be hot for awhile so it is good that your A/C will be hooked up this season.
I have had to bring my big horses in the barn and put fans on them. A combination of there age and size has made them not happy boy.
Just relax with a fan and book..it is not worth making yourself sick working on "anything" ..ugh!!

Stress and heat don't mix. Take a blog vacation. You deserve it! ~Liz

The heat is on here on the 'wet coast' as well! I'm a little afraid to complain as it's the first sign of summer we've had. The tomatoes love it even if the humans are wilting a bit. Nothing like your hot spell, though. Hope you have some fans going...good excuse to just rest.

It's very hot here too, we've been bringing the tour guides inside for lunch and they've been scaling back on the gardeners' duties too because it's just too hot for them outside.

I too am having a hard time with the heat. I count my blessings for the air-conditioning as I worry about the people who don't have it. I have heard of others having problems with blogger lately. Hope it sorts itself out for you soon. Stay cool!

We're suffering with the same heat wave. I also don't do well with the heat and had a migraine last night and had to take a shower at 3am just to cool off so I could sleep. No A/C here :( We did have a short thunderstorm this afternoon and temps are supposed to cool off a bit tonight. Fingers crossed it comes your way too!
