It must be a British thing?

We have just subscribed to Setanta Sports as dh is football mad, especially Carlilse United, I suppose someone has to be a fan of theirs...LOL  Anyhow he was watching the game the other day and the soccer fans were doing all the chants, including Que Sera, Sera, and then the music came on and one of the songs was Status Quo's "Rockin" All Over The World"  Now if you're British and grew up in the 70's there is nothing quite like Status Quo?  Mind you everytime I think of Status Quo I think of Les Battersby on Coronation Street, as he was a big fan.

Here is Rockin All Over The World:

Now my favourite Status Quo song is "Caroline."

Has anyone seen them live in concert as I see they are still touring?

By the way my all time favourite football anthem that gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it is:

I don't support the team though!!

Health wise, my mouth is no better, talked to the dentist and may have to go and see him next week if it doesn't get any better.  Only got a mild headache now so that's good, it hung around a long time though this time.

This blog has been mentioned in the Eden Valley Messenger..YEAH!!!  So if any of you know anyone from the Eden Valley in Cumbria, or in Cumbria in general, pass on the site to them.  Karen has asked me if I want to write about my life in Canada, or my memories about living in Appleby for the site, so its something I am considering.

Did you remember to put your money into your Daily Saving's Pot today?

Today's Money Saving Tip:

Instead of throwing out some damaged clothing, repair it instead. Don’t toss out a shirt because of a broken button – sew a new one on with some closely-matched thread. Don’t toss out pants because of a hole in them – put in a patch of some sort and save them for times when you’re working around the house. Simple sewing can be done by anyone – it just takes a few minutes and it saves a lot of money by keeping you from buying new clothes when you don’t really need to.

Good Old Status Quo - they never change & yes they are still out there !

Sorry to hear you are in pain still.

Poor Molly on a diet - we realised that our younger dog was getting fatter & the older one thinner - then we twigged what was happening ! They are fed in seperate places now !

You'll probably get a headache just by reading this. We are suppose to get 25cms of snow with another huge storm coming our way for Sunday night/Monday morning. It is very pretty outside though if that helps at all.

So glad though to hear your headache is almost gone. Can't stand any type of football. Hugs

Gill,

They couldn't have asked a better person to write for them! That is wonderful news. I suffer from migraines and can sympathize with you. Sorry you are still in pain. Perhaps its a hangover from your Status Quo head banging daze?! Buster and Scout only eat Iams and walk daily. Seems to work for them.

Me! Me! I've seen them live, although it was many years ago when I lived in the Middle East. They used to kick off all their tours in the Middle East because, starved as we were of anything more radical than the Vienne Boys Choir, they were assured of a good reception. I was an air stewardess at the time and took them to one of the Gulf States in First Class. Really nice blokes. I featured in the 1988 Quo Tour Diary and still have their autographs somewhere. Great blog. Found you through Yummy Mammy

I love Quo! Always remember them opening the Live Aid concert in 1985 with Rockin All Over the World. Brilliant! Did you know that Francis Rossi and Rick Parfitt were awarded OBEs in the New Year's honours list.

Congratulations about your blog. Fame at last!

I'm with you on the clothes renovating/recycling. I always get the last bit of life out of our clothes, patching, stitching up holes or seams, repairing zips, letting hems down and so on. My granddaughter didn't want her mam to put a summer dress in the charity bag so I'm renovating it for another summer!

Hope you feel better soon.

Status Quo are coming here to Perth soon! My husband, being British and from that era, is very much wanting to go see them. So I will let you know how they are if we end up going!
