Thank you for all your input over the past couple of days. You've really been a big help. Do you remember in the movie, "Bridget Jones's Diary," when Mark Darcy says to Bridget, "I love you just the way you are?" Well I think I am thinking that about my blog, I love it just the way it is. Other than some cosmetic changes I think it will be staying the same.
I spent part of Tuesday doing some sewing, and the results were these three blocks are now quilted and sewn together. There are still another 9 blocks to do, and we get one block pattern per month, so its a work in progress. I am thinking of doubling up and having a 24 block quilt, I'll see.
This is the back, as you can see its very basic quilting nothing fancy. The backing is a good quality white muslin.
This is not a great photo, but I had never seen this type of bird before, it was a lot bigger than the usual birdies. I think it was a Grey Jay.
Did you remember to put your money into your pot today for the daily savings club?
Today's Money Saving tip:
Write a list before you go shopping – and stick to it. One should never go into a store without a strong idea of what one will be buying while in there. Make a careful plan of what you’ll buy before you go, then stick strictly to that list when you go to the store. Don’t put anything in the cart that’s not on the list, no matter how tempting, and you’ll come out of the store saving a bundle.
I am a British born, living in Canada since May of 1989. My blog is about all aspects of my daily life.

Glad to hear you're not changing Gill. I think we've all given you our tuppence worth and glad it helped in your decision. Those quilting blocks are lovely. You're so clever with your sewing and I admire people who have that kind of patience to produce something so lovely.
p.s. almost forgot, enjoyed your bird photo too.
Good idea to leave your blog as it is Gill - "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind.
Your quilting looks lovely. That is something I'd love to do. You are a clever lady.
Pretty little bird, whatever it is.
We always compile a "menu list" on the back of an old envelope for the week - we then make a shopping list which we stick to. Great minds think alike!
lovely Quilting
we've had an unusual bird here & I'm still trying to check what it is - one of the thrush family I think
The quilt blocks are lovely! I've tried quilting, and just don't have the knack for it, so I really admire the talent of those like you that do!
That quote is what I hope for but don't believe really exists (at least not for me!)
Glad to hear you're leaving the blog alone. We enjoy your company. The blog is yours.

I love your blog just the way it is too! I kept meaning to tell you every time I commented and then forgot and only remembered after logging out. Sorry...
Your quilt is looking lovely, by the way, I'm looking forward to seeing the next part of it!
Quilt is going to be a beauty.
Glad to hear you are staying the same too. Your quilt blocks are turning out beautifully. Can't wait to see when it's all done.
Hugs (oh btw - +2C here yesterday and right now we sit at +1C)
I shop online and have it delivered, that way I don't get side-tracked. Oh and, I have never liked shopping so it's a match made in heaven!
Your blog is wonderful as it is - don't change anything. And you are a very talented quilter. I have bags of scrap material just looking for a bit of creative recycling .... you've inspired me!! :o)
Happy you're staying "as is" ;-) Not only does it seem to suit you (reads so easily) but your public have spoken and come for what you're so good at. Being you! :-))
Your questions in the last post set me thinking about something I'd been mulling over for months now - and finally have come to a conclusion. Thanks! LOL
Will be posting about it all soon, with a tip of the hat to you. I've clicked on and enlarged the quilt block photo, I really like that red fabric! Can't wait to see the finished product.
Hi Gill,
Don't change!
And I love the quilt.
Ok, got to go do supper.
x jo
Gill,
Your quilting blocks are looking fantastic. I'm so jealous. I really wanted to start a wall hanging and they decided not to have any quilting classes at community school this year.
I also love your saving tips, and the reminder to put the money away.
I've started to do it at the beginning of every month and then it is done.
