Still struggling with leaving comments via Blogger

Karine, you are one of those that I cannot leave a comment no matter how I try.  There isn't even an anonymous option on yours.  It's beginning to become more than frustrating to say the least!!!

Had a question for you all.  When you cut your grass do you always cut it in the same direction every time, or do you vary it?

I personally try and cut it in different directions as I read somewhere that it makes the grass grow in better.  Not that mine needs any bloody encouragement, it's still on steroids the way its growing.

Had to spray myself from head to foot with bug repellent on Wednesday night as they were out in force.  Must admit it did do the trick as they left me alone.

Got nearly 310 hours on the clock on the tractor since we got it in May of 2009.  Will say all that time has not been spent cutting grass with it, I use it with the trailer for hauling stuff around the property.

That reminds me, on Tuesday at work I sent out nearly 250 marketing emails.  Now granted I just kept forwarding the original email on, I did have to make changes in the body of the email to personalize it though.  I was fed up to the back teeth of the computer by the time I had finished, plus my poor bum was numb with sitting there all day.  So being on the computer was the last thing I wanted to do when I got home.

We are now sending invoices via email to customers now, partly due to the postal strike that we have on at the moment.  We have also set up online accounts to view bills.  I think the Canada Post employees have not done themselves any favours this time with going on strike, as people are finding other options to get mail to one another.  I know we will be saving a ton of time and money at work not having to send invoices out.

Now this is what I call a tractor......

If my dad looks at my blog he'll let me know what they are doing.  This is at the field on top of the hill.  I know they used a combine harvester to harvest the crop in that field last year, but no idea what they were planting the other day.

Wouldn't mind having a go in that tractor; it's a "bit" bigger than my little tractor.  My little tractor though is working hard and I managed to get all of Kamikaze Hill cut on Friday, which was a bonus as I hadn't planned on doing it as we were forecast for rain.  It held off until I had nearly finished cutting it, but then it poured down.

I have finished painting the attic.  I just have some touch ups to do where my "low tack" painters tape pulled off my paint on the walls?  No idea why I paid extra money for the fancier tape when all it did was pull off the paint?  I am going to do that and clean up the attic and put a final coat of varnish on the stairs.  I still have to varnish the wood on the half wall in the attic but I can do that with the carpet down.

I will be glad when Monday night arrives as the carpet will be down and attic will be more or less done, there will be just be finishing touches, including dh finishing off the electrical and hanging the lights.  We will both be glad when it's finished and I can't wait to share photos with you all.  I will also be able to catch up with you all on your blogs, as time has been in short supply recently.

Enjoy your Saturday.

I knew I shouldn't have, but I did......

I went and cut the grass.  Well not all the grass, as I was busy with other things during the day, but I did nearly three hours worth, and have all around the house done.  Just have the field, Kamikaze Hill and the front ditch.  I could have done part of the ditch but I wasn't happy about flying up and down the hill.  Must be getting soft in my old age!!  Also I need to clean out the ditch of garbage, which I haven't got done yet.  So I am thinking a good three hours probably more for the field and probably under two hours for Kamikaze Hill, then I should be done.

Not sure when I will get around to doing it though, as I have work today and then it is going to rain until next Tuesday.  Have to fill up my gas tanks also this week, so I am guessing with filling my car as well, I think there won't be any change out of $100.

I spent Wednesday morning in the attic tidying up and then painting all the trim.  That took over 2 1/2 hours to paint everything and I class myself as a fast painter.  I am hoping on Friday it won't take as long.  I have to say the days are just flying by as there is so much to do.  The flower beds are full of weeds, I could spend a week on edging the gardens and whipper snipping all the edges around the property.  Oh well it will get done when it gets done...

Enjoy your Thursday, and think of me slaving away at a computer!!!

Thursday's happenings.........

Lots to talk about.  I finished off the new garden, have yet to take a photo of it though.  Fiddled on outside for a couple hours first thing on Thursday morning.  That also included cutting some grass with the lawn tractor.  However that also meant me wrecking another blade on the tractor.  I know I give up with this cutting of the lawn.  So I now have to order some more blades, as I dug up stones and ruined the blade(s)

I went to Sears to get some more blades, but of course they had none in stock.  Tried a couple of other places in town, but of course nothing fits. {{SIGH}}

I went to the doctors, and my arm is fine, and I am doing everything that I should be doing and it will mend eventually.  So that's good.

Dd and I met up with a dear friend and had lunch at her work.  She's a buyer for a big company and they have a huge cafeteria.  Anyhow, they were giving out sample of icecream, so of course me and dd had to taste test them just to make sure they were okay!!!  We sampled three flavours, me: mint choc chip, banans split and caramel toffee crunch.  Dd tasted the mint choc chip, the caramel toffee crunch and the sprinkle party icecream.  Here is a full list of the flavours; mint choc chip was both our favourites.  The things I do for you.....I deserve a medal!! LOL

Poor Molly is rushed off her feet as the chipmunks have materialised again, and she runs back and forward from one window to the next looking at them.

She also started to bark up a storm this morning, couldn't decide at what to start with and then I saw it up in the tree.
Here is it's bum...........yep a raccoon.

It seems that Molly does NOT like raccoons!!

Another hot and humid day here......PLEASE RAIN!!!!

Also last night's sunset:

Wednesday at the Acreage.........

Now as I am writing this I am either going to be high as a kite, or end up with a migraine, not sure which at the moment!!! The reason being is that we had the new windows and patio doors installed today, and the smell is wicked/nasty. Not sure what its coming from, but it has to do with the window and doors. They look awesome and such a difference from the old ones. They have to do the trim and finishing off on Thursday and I will then post some photos.

I saw a woodpecker tonight, but by the time I had gone to get my camera it had flown away. I also saw a beautiful red cardinal the other day, again the same thing, by the time I had got my camera it had flown away.

We need to get a skylight installed in the attic, so dh pulled off some of the plaster and lathe so we could see how big the gaps were between the wood. What a nasty dirty job, but he got an awful lot pulled off in an hour.

I got the rest of the field cut without being attacked by birds and other wildlife. Its a short post today as its been a busy day........

Peaches........

Over the weekend a dear friend dropped off some Ontario Peaches for me.  She got them from the Niagara region.  She goes down there from Bra...
