Poor Little Munchkin and I was just so fashionable!!

I was well enough to go down to dd house with dh on Saturday.  Got there and went with dd and Our Little Munchkin to the walk-in clinic as she is not well again.

The doctor she saw had an x-ray fetish, as I am quite sure half his patients ended up going for x-rays and then coming back.  Our Little Munchkin was one of them.  Luckily I was there, as dd held her arms and I held her legs, to keep her still.  The doctor wanted to make sure she had something going on in her chest.

Hello, you could hear her wheezing when she is sat on your knee.  Over three hours later we get her home and straight to bed, where she slept for FOUR hours.  She has a chest infection and is on antibiotics AGAIN.  This is the third time in three months.  Dd takes her for her 18 month check up this month and will have a talk with the doctor to see what on earth is going on.  As every time she gets a cold, it turns into a chest infection and/or an ear infection.

She was breast fed right until she was a year old, so you would think that would help.  Daycare is the issue, as it's one child after another that is sick.   Pink Eye is going around, Our Little Munchkin is fine, just this chest infection.

Poor Little Munchkin, she always looks so sorrowful when she is sick.  As for me, I am getting there, but it's flipping slow going {{{SIGH}}}

Congratulations to Prince William, Kate and Prince George on the birth of their daughter/sister.

Oh, and for the fashionable bit, my feet were cold on the way home from dd, so I put a pair of socks on; I was wearing slip on sandals.  We then called in at Timmie's (coffee shop) and I left my socks on!!  I know socks and sandal's...where were the fashion police!!!  I decided I wouldn't bore you with a photo.  I am so going to get ANOTHER lecture from dd about wearing socks and sandals!

Day care can be tough with infections. All the best.

Poor little munchkin, it's so rough on little ones (and their parents) when they're I'll. glad to hear you getting a bit better, lol on the sandals and socks xx

Daycare seems to breed germs, hope Munchkin is better soon. I've been known to wear socks and sandals too, I'm past the age where I worry too much about what others think, as long as I'm warm.

Gill C never went to daycare and yet was sick constantly. We found she had child asthma. She grew out of it however still gets sick easily. We almost owned the drugstore because of all the antibiotics she was on. Now at 25 she fights off anything she picks up without antibiotics. Hope your little munckin feels better soon.

You sound as though you were at the height of chicness and elegance! As long as your tootsies were warm tht's what matters!

Your poor Munchkin, hope she will feel better soon. Daycare kids do get sick but sounds like she needs antibiotics often. I wonder if she has allergies or asthma as an underlying cause. Glad to hear you are finally feeling a bit better.

I see nothing wrong with sandals and socks -- I have worn birks with socks many times but then I am clearly an old hippy -- I wasn't a hippy back in the day but apparently I am now. I am sorry, I just don't believe in the whole idea that breast-feeding gives a lot of immunity to things. I have watched my grandchildren (and others) -- all breast fed -- have all sorts of issues from asthma, eczema, allergies, etc. My kids were bottle fed formula and they never had the issues these kids have had. My daughter says that she doesn't believe the breast feeding things either. Hopefully your Munchkin will be feeling better soon. My son had the "perpetual ear infection" until they finally gave him a different antibiotic and he never had it again -- might need to look at new meds -- amoxil is useless.

That's tough I hate seeing little ones suffer and be miserable.

My Grandgirl brought home every infection known to humankind when in kindergarten. She was living with me at the time so I even got, wait for it, head lice on top of colds, flu and bronchitis.

Headlice in the mid fifties is a crisis. *snort*

Daycares are so awful about passing those germs around. My little granddaughter hasn't been sick once in 10 months since she left daycare. Before that it was just like your Munchkin. I'll be praying that she will have a quick recovery this time.
Socks and sandals! Oh my! But you were warm, right? The older I get, the less I worry about fashion. :-)
Blessings,
Betsy

So sorry for the sick one. May the pills do the trick.

As for the fashion police, you have the right to dress yourself any way you please! I think if I were told not to wear something, it might become the main part of my traveling suit, regardless.

Have a blessed day. Thanks for your kind comment.

One of my grandsons is always getting coughs and colds too Gill. I also put it down to the Nursery situation. He is going to school in September and then it will get worse. I worked in a school for 13 years and I know how the germs go around in that environment especially amongst the little ones. It's a shame but I suppose in the long run they are just building up an immunity. If you don't give them antibiotics, it often gets worse so we treat them quickly. I'm not sure what is the right thing to do. Hope she gets better soon and stays better!

Daycares do have that tendency to pass sicknesses around like hard currency.

How amazing did the Duchess of Cambridge look when she left the hospital!

So sorry for the grand baby. Daycare kids do traditionally have more coughs, colds, general ick than non daycare babies, but it evens out when they are older. By the time 3rd grade rolls around the day care kids have an amazing immune system. (Generally, and yes I know exceptions to every situation)
When flying in the summer I love to wear flip flops, but I hate my bare feet on the carpet at security. I have been known to wear old ratty socks until I am through screening, then take them off prior to putting my shoes back on. (They are old socks so I just trash them) Unfashionable? Yeah, but I just don't care.

But socks and sandals feel so good! LOL

Glad you are feeling better, but sorry your little munchkin is feeling under the weather. Church and daycare both are bad about keeping the little ones sick. Wish there was some way around that. Poor baby, you know she was sick when she slept for four hours. Hope she is feeling better soon.

When we get a certain age, or maybe it is a stage we reach, we worry more about comfort than we do about fashion!

I think your munchkin and our Tootie have been on a roll this year with being sick. Lorelei had a bit of a cough last weekend when we were there, but only if she played hard. She didn't have that worn out look, either so maybe hers are about over.

Hoping you get completely well soon.

I hope by now your little Munchkin is feeling better. It's always so hard when they've not feeling well! As for the fashion police, I think they were at my house--You should see what I looked like when I went out yesterday. Sandals and socks for me would have been an improvement! :-)!

It's so hard when they have recurring problems. And I agree daycare is where they pick up most of those problems.

And a true confession - I wear socks with sandals all the time! Especially my colorful handknit ones. :)

My grandson seemed to catch something every other week when he was at nursery. By the time he got to school he had built up his resistance & he hardly caught anything.

Hopefully that will happen with Munchkin too.
