Ever wonder why your fresh/real Christmas Tree never lasts long?

Well I know; I just wish I had, had a camera with me.  We passed a big field of Christmas trees on Saturday and a lot were cut, wrapped and stacked ready for the Christmas market.  It's only the middle of October for goodness sake.  I'll stick with my artificial one thank you.

On Saturday ds and son-in-law ran up the CN Tower to raise money for charity.  As per this article there are: 1776 steps to main deck level (1135 ft), 2579 to Sky pod (1465 ft).

I don't know if they went to the main deck level or beyond.  Anyhow son-in-law did it in under 25 minutes and I think ds was 28 minutes, not 100% sure though.  As I said to dh if it were me I would still be climbing up those stairs.  Mind you I wouldn't go up the CN Tower even if you paid me.  The last time I was up there I discovered I was afraid of heights!!!  And those glass floors don't excite me either!!

We spent Saturday at dd and son-in-law's house as dh went to give them a hand to install their new kitchen. Must say it's very nice and very bright and clean.  It's pretty plain and is off white.  They got it at Lowes and is made by a Canadian Company, but I can't remember the name; but constructed very well.

While they were doing that I was putting together the favours for the baby shower.  I can't wait to show you what we are giving them, it is really nice, but bloody fiddly to do.  Luckily for me dd Martha was busy installing the kitchen so I wasn't "supervised!!"  Now for all my whining, I had to admit, dd has done an excellent job with all the details for this baby shower; she should be a party planner.  I can't wait to share photos of everything, only two more weeks.

I am with you on the heights thing & those glass floors in the CN Tower. I believe Paula & Brads Justin did the same climb. Good thing the shower was put off later to give you more fiddling time.

When we first moved to Connecticut, we found that it was hard to find a pre-cut tree, and most people went to a tree farm and cut their own.

Well, those trees didn't last any longer than the pre-cut ones, and it was so much more work! While I loved doing it, G-man didn't. Once the kids were born, it got harder. I would say it has been 6 years since we found a pre-cut place we like, and if they cut their trees in October...oh well.

Wow I did not know that about the trees either that makes no sense to me.
Congratulations to your brother in law the CN tower does have a lot of steps I prefer the scary outside elevator:)
I have been up on the glass floor twice the first time I coward in the corner hugging the wall the next time after flying for the first time I walked around free. I loved it.
Baby showers are so cool. B

Oh wow, I didn't know they cut them so early. I know when we lived in Michigan there were tree farms and we could go cut our own! I love the smell of a fresh cut tree, but I do hate that they die so early.

That sure does seem early to be cutting
Christmas trees.

I can't believe they already have Christmas trees for sale...that is just crazy! We have a tradition in our family that we go chop one down every year at the beginning of December...it's always a day long event :)
My husband did the CN tower climb this year, last year we both did it. It was great fun!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog, it's wonderful to make new friends.

I know all of the stores have all of their Christmas stuff out already but cutting trees so early? That's crazy! Hubby is voting for a fake tree but I really like the smell of fresh so we will have to see what happens...

We have an fake tree ourselves. Trees just kept getting more and more expensive, plus that whole fire risk thing. About 10 years ago we just went out and purchased a fake one and use that every year.

I don't do heights !!!!!!!!

Not keen on that glass floor either. I've only seen photos from when the family went up. Too expensive too. Love your little chipmunk and that dog. We are dogless right now but we do have 2 cats.
We are real tree people at Christmas and try to do the shake thing before purchasing.

I love the small of a fresh tree but I just can't justify cutting a tree that takes 20 years to grow. We always use artificial but get a few branches from those tree markets for the kitchen(to get my smell:)
