What do you do when it's a million degrees outside..

well you start to decorate inside!!  Isn't that what you all do???

I went to see a friend on the way to the dentist on Monday and I hadn't been in her house for a long time.  I left her home with "house envy."  Which I must say is most unlike me, but there you go.  Her main bathroom is to die for, with a huge walk in glass shower, with huge shower heads.  Gorgeous marble floors and walls; a stunning accent tile, all in all my dream bathroom.  Plus she has a Denby dinner service I adore.  So all in all I was not impressed with our house when I got home.  So on Tuesday morning I had to go into town to get Molly some pills, so I called in at Home Hardware and picked up a gallon of paint and put a first coat on the kitchen.

I painted it "Lickity Split" which is the shade of custard.  It goes well with all the wood, as it has a brown undertone and it goes well with the white and blue tile.  I took a couple of photos of the paint chip/card, but not sure how well you'll be able to see it:

I'll take photos of the kitchen when I have done the second coat which should be on Wednesday morning.....I hope.

My mouth is good by the way, trying to keep to eating soft things and yogurt has become my new best friend, actually I am a huge fan of yogurt regardless.  I picked up the new Danone Sihouette SatisfAction yogurt.  It's supposed to fill you up more and I must say it was filling, and very, very thick.  I got it half price that is why I bought it, otherwise it is pricy for what it is.  I bought the strawberry flavour and it is good.  I will say Activia by Danone, is still my all time favourite yogurt though, especially the Vanilla flavour.  I don't eat it for the probiotics, I eat it for the flavour.

I've caught "house envy" on many occasions and still have bouts of it every now and then--It's hard not too when I live in a farm house and so many of my friends live in the more traditional (and biggger) homes built throughout this part of Virginia. But when I come home, I'm glad I don't have to clean all that space! :-)
I like the paint color and I'm also glad that you're feeling better after the extraction of your tooth!! We are in the midst of a heatwave here too...No relief until the end of the week!

Love the colour. We are anticipating buying a new house and I am sure there will be some indoor work to do!!! Meantime, we are busily housecleaning!!!

Oh yes it is a bit unsettling when you get house envy! From the photos I have seen of your house it is lovely and your kitchen will look great with that lovely new colour. I do love to use yellow shades. Such a bright sunny feel to it. Glad your mouth feels OK. A x

I'm much too lazy to get house envy! Nice colour, look forward to seeing it finished.

I have favourite yoghurts too. Like you I love Activia especially the fig flavour. At the moment I'm into Aldi's Active yoghurts, cherry flavour. Funny because I'm not mad about fresh cherries!

lol gosh Gill, in this heat I didn't even have the guts to vacuum until today after having the AC unit on all day to get some of the stickiness out of my apartment and you start painting? lol So much for moving as little as possible for beating the heat, which is one of my tactics!

Hello Gill
Yeah at long last I can visit - House envy - with me its not the colours but the clearness. Not cleanliness but clear surfaces and no stuff around about. Gives me something to think about when I get home.
Its strange but you'd be surprised how much inside decorating gets done down here as well when its really hot. If its too hot to paint outside then indoors gets done instead.
Take care
Cathy
