Photos of the kitchen......

Managed to get the kitchen put back together on Thursday, despite the heat.  It has brightened it up no end putting the yellow on the walls.  It would be even nicer with a new ceiling, new kitchen cabinets and new counter top though..........but that ain't happening any time soon!

Still as hot as heck here, so still suffering.  I keep hoping it will rain, but no luck so far, as I am writing this 8pm on Thursday night.

Still worn out with this heat.......did however take your advise and did a bit of reading to rest up. I read a book called "Bayou Fever" by Kathleen Y'Barbo It was a short one, so didn't take long to read.

My arm is mending just fine, looks like a nurse had a fight with me when she was taking blood now!!

The yellow in the kitchen looks fantastic! Good choice. Hope the weather cools down soon for you. Today it's only got up to 9 degrees, which is very cold for us. Especially as we don't have central heating, and have just one gas heater in the living room that we all huddle around!

Love the kitchen, it looks so spacious with lots of room for spreding out when cooking. Or in my case making more of a mess! The colour is great! Suzie xx

Ooooo I'd do anything for a large kitchen! Funny how we always want something other than we have - 'thats the nature of women' I suppose! Its the creative side of us - just love the yellow, I think its such a cheerful sunshiny colour.
Take care now and dont do too much - I do hope it cools down soon - the heat is awful for us Northern types - just not bred for it!

Gill, I LOVE your kitchen!!! I know how we all hate to hear the word "warm" right now, but it's so warm and inviting!! I also think that we have the same white (Kenmore) appliances that I bought when I redid my own kitchen and the one in the house we moved from (I upgraded a bit in my current kitchen) But white appliances are my favorite, and I didn't listen or care when the sales person told me that "stainless is much more chic!" I didn't want "chic" I wanted white! :-)))

Glad you're mending!!!

Gill! I love your kitchen! It's beautiful! I love the yellow!

The heat is getting to me too! I really want a break from it. We're supposed to get severe thunderstorms through here today...maybe you'll get a piece of that storm system as it's supposed to cool down, and take the humidity away!

Your toaster looks just like mine! It's still working, too. Love your kitchen. And yellow is great for a little liquid sunshine. Liz

Hi Gill, I'm enjoying catching up on your blogs. I'd LOVE to see that country home you all now have --and are fixing it up... The kitchen looks GREAT... I love old homes --since the rooms are so nice and big...

Hope you are doing okay... It's hotter than hot here also--and I'm miserable... Can't believe it's THAT hot up there though.... Gads!!!!!

Take care and have a wonderful summer. Enjoy that home!!!!

My poor hubby had a blood test today and they needed to use both arms as his vein wasn't cooperating...
