I am in so much pain........

Back in December I mentioned I had been to the dentist and I wrote about it here  The dentist thought it was a sensitive tooth and to use a sensitive toothpaste.  Well things have been going from bad to worse, and my poor mouth has been throbbing, especially around that tooth.  I have been taking advill like candy to try and stop the throbbing.

So on Thursday morning I went back to the dentist and he took x-rays again and he thinks its a cracked tooth.  There was a couple of options, he could put in a temporary medicated filling????  He could do a root canal at a cost of around $3,000, or he could send me to a specialist to have the tooth pulled.  Not 100% sure why he couldn't pull the tooth, however I have an appointment on Friday at 8:45am to have it pulled.  Not overly happy about the situation, but I am in so much pain with this tooth, something has to happen.  He gave me an antibiotic to make sure if there is any infection this will fight it, and Tylenol 2 for the pain.

Then just to add to it all, do you remember back at the end of the September when I fell and twisted my knee?  If not read about it here  Well I have my good days and my bad days with this knee, and on Thursday it was a bad day, as that was also throbbing.  Now I don't know about you, but I can only concentrate on one thing that is wrong with me at a time.  So its all very confusing me having a throbbing tooth and a throbbing knee at the same time!!!  You know how things happen in three's?  I wonder what my third thing will be!!

Oh and the warmer weather has arrived, thank you Carol for that.

Did you remember to put your money in your pot for the Daily Saving Club?

Today's Money Saving Tip:

Try generic brands of items you buy regularly. Instead of just picking up the ordinary brand of an item you buy, try out the store brand or generic version of the item. Likely, you’ll save a few cents now, but you’ll also likely discover that the store brand is just as good as the name brand – the only difference between the two, often, is the marketing. Once you’re on board the generic train, you’ll find your regular grocery bill getting smaller and smaller.

Oh Oh Oh I am so sorry for you in your pain. I have been there too and I know what you mean about concentrating on one thing at a time. I hope you get rid of that tooth this morning. Concentrate on how wonderful it will be when that pain has gone. Maybe the knee pain will lessen too once your body is not on 'extreme alert!' I'm sure one pain encourages another. My house partner has also had toothache all over Christmas and has suffered and is still suffering.
I shall think about you as the day progresses and look for your next post in anticipation.
Blessings, Star

Sorry about tooth and knee. I know exactly what you mean about coping with more than one painful condition. My knees are painful all the time and I go completely bonkers when I have to endure any other health problem! Good luck with the tooth pulling - heave ho!

I feel so sorry for you having toothache Gill. I had real problems in 2008 with an abscess and in the middle of one night had to ring NHS direct to ask how many painkillers I could safely take. The nurse I spoke to was so sympathetic I was sobbing down the phone to her!! I do hope you are soon pain free from tooth and knee. It is awful being in real pain.

Oh Gill, good luck at the dentist today! A pulled tooth doesn't sound like much fun but it's better than throbbing pain :-(

Hope your knee feels better too!

Hey, I didn't know Carol was in charge of dispensing the warm weather, too! We've been having some, too! I'll have to get by to thank her!

Sorry about all the throbbing. Just don't fly south on that Tylenol 2! That stuff puts me in orbit. Hope you get it all worked out or pulled out soon.

i just had my 2nd root canal on a tooth. 1st was 10 years ago. It's cost thousands so far and guess what, it still hurts.
should've just had it taken out in the first place.
get well soon.
maybe you need a holiday in the sun?

I'm so sorry for your tooth and your knee...my mom had a tooth pulled last year because she had a crown that kept falling off and eventually the tooth died. She said it was not en overly enjoyable experience, but definitely more pleasant than constant visits to the dentist and root canal treatments.

Gill -

I hope the third thing passes you by. You've suffered enough. I say take a shot or two of some Pattys to soothe until that darn tooth is taken care of and your knee heals.
