It's our baby's birthday today, she is 24 years of age at 7:30am British time. Yes she was born in Penrith Hospital in Cumbria. She was lucky she wasn't born at home, as if a slate hadn't fallen off the roof, goodness knows what would have happened.
It was a stormy night and a slate fell off the roof around 3:30am, which woke us up, and that was when I discovered I was in labour. So we get packed up and drop of ds at my mam's and step-father's. Who when put into bed with them promptly threw up; mind you grandchild's vomit, isn't the same as adults or children's vomit now is it!!
We probably arrived at the hospital by 5am, and I had dd at 7:30am, just in time for breakfast!! It was an easy birth with no medication needed. Mind you dd made up for it as a baby; she was on solids at 6 weeks; walked at 9 1/2 months, never slept through until she was at least four to five years of age. However she is a joy to be around, and is a very productive adult and both me and her dad are so very proud of her and all her accomplishments.
Mind you I shouldn't have said it was an easy birth, as you can use the fact that you went through hours and hours of pain to give birth to them, when they are being pain in the butt whining teenagers. I think it is a mother's duty to put them on a guilt trip about how much you went through to give birth to them!! I think it's the least we can do, for all we have to put up with!!
I rang her at work yesterday to tell her it was one more sleep until her birthday, as she loves her birthday and gets really excited when its Christmas. Her excitement rubs off on you which is so nice.
Last year we got her the Coach bag, see this post this year we gave her money and she is going to put it towards this Samsara bag. I prefer the Coach bag, but I do like how they are donating a portion of the proceeds of this product to charity. Dd is a big fan of Matt and Nat bags, which the Samsara is a line of.
My step-mother took a photo of Molly on the weekend which I thought was nice. I will update you all tomorrow on Molly, as the saga continues.
I also wanted to say thank you again for all your lovely comments!!!

Happy birthday to your daughter! It's my sons girlfriends 21st today too. They've been together since school so she's like a daughter to me.
My 'real' daughter is 26, and was exactly the same as yours, solids @ 6wks, walking @ 9m! But her birth was looooong & traumatic!

Happy Birthday to your daughter :)
your dd and my dd are the same age, as in born the same year.
i agree about the grandchild's vomit. funny that, its completely different. :-)
Happy birthday to DD! Those are indeed very nice bags :o)
As for Stellan, I know you were going to say prayers for him. His surgery was complete success, but he seemed to be having some lung issues and was running a fever last night. They haven't posted anything since then, so hopefully he'll be okay. He's such a trooper though, I'm sure he will be :o) Keep saying prayers for his recovery, he deserves nothing less than absolutely perfect health for the rest of his (hopefully very long) life :o)
Molly is a pretty beastie :)

Happy 24th Birthday to your daughter, Gill! I have to say that I really like that Coach bag, too. Red is usually 'so not me,' but sometimes you just have to step out of your zone! Heehee!
You woke up at 3:30 and discovered you were in labor??? And she was born 4 hours later???
That is just so wrong. Half the world is now insanely jealous.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your daughter
