Prince Charles and Camilla..........will I be rushing down to see them..............heck no. There are members of the Royal Family who I think they are worth their weight in gold, one of them being Princess Anne, and there are others, who I have never seen the point of, and two of them are visiting our area at the moment!!!
A question for you, what colour is your Kitchen Aid mixer? Mine is cream and I got it for my 40th birthday from dh, and yes I requested it. Over on Saving 4 Later, she is saving up for a chrome one.
Things about Molly. She has been shedding like a crazy dog recently, and when she sees me with the brush she runs a mile. She also has been stinky, so I decided I wanted to give her a shower. However she has now clicked that when I tell her to come upstairs and I have my nightie on, she knows I want her to have a shower. I tried to bribe her with a cheese slice to come upstairs but she wasn't having that either. Anyhow on Wednesday morning after she had been outside for a pee, she then decided to go back upstairs to bed, so I saw my opportunity. I had to carry her to the bathroom, but I got her in the shower. Now if looks could kill, I should be six feet under now!!
As for her allergies, I am gradually weaning her off the allergy pills, and I can tell she is getting itchy. She's not chewing her body, and lower region, but she is chewing her paws. The vet called to tell me it would cost $390.03 for an allergy test for her.....my reaction.........bloody hell........I won't even repeat dh's reaction, this is a wholesome blog!!!
I am not too sure what I am going to do next regarding her allergies, as she has been on her vegetarian food for six weeks now, so I don't think its a food allergy. I am reluctant to go back to the vets, as that will be another $65 just for seeing the vet........money we can ill afford at the moment.
Still plagued with cluster flies, though no where near as many as there was, and I haven't caught a mouse in a week or so, so that's good news.
Otherwise Wednesday was a very quiet day around the house for me, I haven't left the house since Saturday.
I am a British born, living in Canada since May of 1989. My blog is about all aspects of my daily life.

Yep, I have discovered I have been finding it harder to hear, especially when there is a lot of back ground noise. So figured I would get a...

So to follow up on your Kitchen Aid question, mine WAS chrome. After my divorce, I sold it to friend who offered almost full price. I was very grateful as I was coming home to England and couldn't bring it with me. Ex not happy that I'd sold it.
I loved it and miss it!
I used to have a dog who had an allergy and we did not know what it was. My vet advised to put him on a chicken and rice diet and he prescribed prednison for him. These pills are really cheap and they did the trick. We had to repeat the treatment a few times per year, but it worked. At this moment, we have a cat who has the same problem and he gets prednison as well and it really works for him (we do not put him on a diet). Human anti histamine medication does not work on animals. Before spending a lot of money again, this might be worth a try???
Good luck

I haven't followed the entire Molly saga - her allergies - but have you tried Benadryl? The Boy take Benadryl 2X a day for his "dust" allergies [and we live in a dayum Sandbox!]. I'm not thrilled that he probably has built up some immunities with daily Benadryl, but it really does seem to help quite a bit as far as the runny eyes, the red ears, the itching...
chuck and cammy will be down the raod from me today but i'll be at work so no chance of getting a cuppa with them.
:-)
Our bet put my dog on Pyriton. They worked perfectly as you can buy them over the counter and he only needed half a tablet a day. These are the 6-8 hourly ones, not the dailies which you cannnot give dogs. My son and he dog took the same ones hehe. We told him they were allergic to each other hehe.
Hi Gill ..woke up to a dusting of snow here in Norwood today ..that will get rid of the last of our pesky flies hopefully ..lol . I just left a comment for 'Save for later' letting her know I have a brand new (still unopened in Box ) Kitchen Aid stand mixer with all the attachments etc ..Pistachio color ( pretty pale green ) for sale . I won two the same last year ( the one I am using and LOVE is stainless steel ) So thanks for mentioning it ..maybe we can help each other and she will get the mixer she dreams of at a very good price . I told her you can vouch for me if she is nervous .
Stay warm and cosy darlin ..I am going nowhere today ! Am thinking Christmas card writing is a good plan ..

Gosh, I can't say I would be running down the path to see them either...though if not for an appointment my Digby had with her vet for surgery I would have stood in the Mall to watch Diana and Charles wedding procession go by...but Digby came first, you know! As for Molly's allergies...I hope you get that question answered, and soon for all your sakes!

mine is boring old white, but i did see a red one the other day that looked very nice. Hey that is funny because HRH Andrew is here at the moment! Hope molly improves more and more.
Gil, call around to other vets as far as you're willing to drive and get quotes. you'd be amazed at the vast difference in prices among vets. There's one out here who wants $485 for what one 40 minutes' drive away will do for $200.
I love all the different colors, but I still want something that will match my kitchen, especially if I want to leave it out once in a while :-)
supertrooper, I'll email you privately, have your email you left on my blog...
As for Molly, poor thing. I am not a fan of Prednisone as my Lab was on it while he had cancer... it made him drink lots of water, PEE a lot! and it gave him a voracious appetite (he gained 15 lbs). Of course he was on a larger dose... I dunno, I've always wanted my animals to be as comfy as possible, so I hope you find a way to relieve Molly's itching soon...
My KA is green. I wish I hadn't gotten a colored one because it doesn't match my kitchen colors nor will it when I redo the kitchen.
As to Molly, what type of shampoo are you using. We use baby shampoo for Ginger (she is a pom). The vets here are really expensive too. It's crazy!!
As to the two royal family members that are here...well it isn't worth saying!!
My kitchen aid is white. It does more work than C & C.
Don't have a Kitchen Aid mixer.Do believe yours all do more useful work than C&C.
I SO want a kitchenaid mixer. I'd like an old-fashioned aqua coloured one I think - or red :)
I just don't bake enough to justify needing one and they take up more room on my counter than I currently have. Still want one though :)
I love how your blog has all those wonderful links to recipes it is so handy What an industrious person you are to find all those links
cheers Julie
