Good news for Molly

Took Molly to the vets on Thursday and she did biopsies on three of her lumps and they came out cancer free......YEAH!!!!!!

However, still puzzled why her lymph nodes are so enlarged, and we go back in a month to see if there is any change.  She is concerned about the size of Molly's stomach, but as I said she is just hungry all the time.  I am feeding her 1 cup of food twice a day, which is normal for a 40 lb dog.  The Vanectyl P pills are a steroid and she is having one twice a day and her allergies are still bad.  We are also going to do blood work to make sure her liver is still working well, as that is also a side effect of these pills.

Molly did very well during her examination and prodding and poking.  Though by the time the vet stuck the thermometer up her butt I think she had, had enough and made her feelings known!!!  So it was quite a relief to us that she is cancer free and a relief to our bank account that it only cost $75 instead of the $1,100 it would of cost if she had, had to have surgery.

Bit of a mystery around here.  I have mouse traps set in the old basement and two have disappeared.  I have looked high and low for them and can't find them.  They were all set to catch mice, so have no idea what on earth has happened?

That is good News for Molly.
About the disapearing mouse traps we had the same thing here in our old house we found out it was a Rat.

Hi there from Lindsay - Happy New Year! When we had mice sometimes the traps went missing. One day I heard one trap go off and opened the door to the airing cupboard and watched as the mouse fled dragging the trap behind him which was attached to his tail. We decided that was the answer to our mystery.

It's good news about Molly. I hope she gets over all the other irritations before long. As for the mouse traps, do you think the mice have dragged them out of harm's way? Only joking. Happy New Year.

Aw sweet little girl, I'm glad that she didn't have to have surgery. Fleur's stitches come out later today.

I am so happy Molly is OK even though it is a mystery.
About the traps I have noticed my traps disappear and I f it seems the mouse does not die and drags it off. Sad for the mouse but I understand the need for traps we have the same problem here on the farm.

Happy New Year. B

YAY for Molly!

Hope you discover what's happening to those mouse traps.

The photo of the reflected red house was taken on the Trent-Severn Waterway, I think it was Bolsover.

All the best in 2012, Gill!

Hi, with the mouse traps that go somewhere, I had a friend who nailed them to a large piece of wood, solid enough so if it was a rat, they could NOT drag it away. At least 4" by 2" or thicker and wider. That way you do not get a dead rat/mouse somewhere you can't find but CAN SMELL!!! Good luck with the traps.Cheers from Jean in NZ

Wonderful news about Molly! I have come to really like Molly and am glad she is well. About the mousetraps -- perhaps something larger got caught, not killed, and they just took off with them. We have had that happen when we had a -yuck - rat issue once.

I have been wondering about Molly....glad to hear that it was not cancer...I had read down below about the lumps. Also seen your first real winter weather pictures...we have had flurries a couple different time, including today, but no accumulation to speak of.

I have not been blogging since before Christmas and am trying to make up my mind if I am ready to start again.
