My apologies and the Women's Show......

I must apologise for not posting, but it has been a heck of a busy weekend and as I write this Monday morning I must say I am shattered.

Anyhow on Sunday me and dd attended the Women's Show in Toronto and had a super time.  Here are some of the freebies we received while there:

Our leaving gift was three pairs of tights (pantyhose), a can of tuna, a box of Triscuits and some hemp "milk," we both passed on the hemp milk!!
The only things I bought were the nuts for 2 cans for $5, will put them away for Christmas and the caramel dips, that were 2 for $3.  They are so good with cut up apples.
There were food samples galore.  Dd got her face done with full makeup and the makeup artist was really good and gave her some good tips.

I did try some sort of eye cream that removes the bags and wrinkles, but only got the one eye done as I was in tears.........my eyes are so sensitive that I can't even stand people close to them.  I was the first one to have tears coming out of her eyes, and that's why I refused to have the other eye done.  When I showed dh my eyes he couldn't see any difference and to be truthful neither could I!!

Dd bought some bath salts and while she was smelling the scents, a lady from the booth came up to me and asked me to smell some.  They were in glass containers with metal tops.  She stuck it right under my nose and the metal must have touched my upper lip and boom, I got an electric shock.  Boy did that hurt, so after that I refused to have anyone come close to me, as goodness knows what would have happened next!!!

All in all we had a great day, but I did get stuck in a major traffic jam on the way home........which sucked.

Oh dear, it sounds like it was a bit of an ordeal one way and another. Electric shocks in the mouth are not fun. Reminds me of silver paper on fillings (ugh) so I can imagine how you felt.
Lots of interesting things, that I've never heard of, to see.
Blessings, Star

I get all nervy this time of year because everything and everyone I touch causes a charge of an unpleasant type!!! Glad you had fun anyway, though!

That's an interesting day you had. Well, maybe not the traffic part but all those goodies...yay!

Gill, you scared me. Near the top you said you were shattered.

I bet in Britain that means tired, in Canada it means that you have been struck by a tragedy and you have broken apart.

Again the Britain/Canadian word differences are so interesting. That is one of the things I love about your blog, the cultural differences.

Love your blog, keep up the good work.

Boy you really did come away from the show with lots of goodies.
I love the caramel apple dip also, it's a very good company.
Doesn't sound very nice getting the electric shock or the drive home.

Hello Gill
Well what a day - you had a lovely time (not)lol All those free goodies but also all those supposedly acts of kindness. I think you'd best stay at home and hibernate from now on - might be less stressful as well as less dangerous.
Seriously you must slow down some time or you will be a prime candidate for colds and flu when the season starts

Hey, Miss Canada! First mention of snow in our forecast this fall -- for Friday morning. Trying to figure out how that is supposed to work since the overnight low is only set for 36F. Maybe they're just teasing us. ~Liz
