Did you dread reaching a certain age?

I found my 25th birthday the hardest.  I thought I was so old; no idea why.  When I turned 30 or 40 it never bothered me, but 25 was a bad one.  How about you?

Does anyone know why Bristol Palin is still on Dancing With The Stars.......

Wednesday was another gorgeous day.  I got all the Spring bulbs planted, so that is another job out of the way.  Also got the remainder of the leaves mulched with the lawn tractor.

I was reading this article which had the Title: Revealed: The embarrassing wrong quiz answers that prove Britain really is dumbing down.

and finally:
In Flanders Fields
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

I think Bristol's still on because all of Alaska votes for her. I like her, and I think she's come a long way, but she should have been gone before Rick and Audrina.

26 was my year, I couldn't believe I'd reached such an age. I'm now at the age where I'm grateful...lol.

Our Strictly Come Dancing still has it's 'odd' member. I always thought the show was about dancing but now I hear that it's more about entertainment ... which explains why the rubbish dancers are voted on and the very best are voted off.

Hope your tooth is behaving a bit better.

Remembrance Day for all of us. Bless you! I'm a vet and proud of it.

My guess on Bristol Palin would be: Keeping her on is could for ratings? Rides Sarah's coattails??

I had the hardest time turning 42. Bill and Hillary had just won the election, and I was totally disgusted. I felt like the yuppies, etc. had defeated us all. Made me feel old. I just turned 60, and I feel younger than I did at 50. Think the country is in even greater danger, though.

Glad to hear the tractor survived the mulching!

No, no birthday has ever bothered me. I tried being grown up in my twenties and decided I didn't like it, so just decided to be me (whether people like it or not).

Any birthday with a 0 on the end of it is difficult for me but just lately I have had a different problem, if problem it is. I have started letting my hair grow through grey because I am fed up with people treating me like I'm 40 when I'm nearly 60 years old. On buses, when I sit in the old persons seats at the front, I frequently get looks that say 'hey you, you should get up and let whoever it is sit down there. That seat's for old people. Well, I'm an old person now too! I'm probably older than the person who looks 90 but is really 50.
I want people to treat me like I'm the age that I am please. I want to be called Mrs. Jones, not 'Stella' by people younger than I am, etc. etc.
Now I'm getting off on a rant, ha ha!
Blessings, Star

For me too, 25 was the most traumatic. I was leaving behind carefree years for serious adulthood.

I went to John MrCrae junior highschool in Scarborough and had to memorize this poem :)

I don't think any age has bothered me much so far - maybe 30 a little bit just because I had a new baby and life was changing so much.

Thank you for posting the poem. I usually read it aloud (to myself) on Remembrance Day but I didn't even think of it being Remembrance Day today.

I actually found 18 rather alarming...because my parents took all the fun out of it by telling me how much more responsibility they were going to give me and how I was going to be getting no more rides anywhere I could get by public transit. I was very upset with them over it.

It was lovely of you to put 'In Flanders Fields' on your blog today :o)

Wow, I have a similar post and have this poem too. I don't watch Dancing so not up to date on what is going on. Fun to read those answers. I think some people get so nervous doing quiz' that they sound more clueless than they actually are, but it does make for a funny read. No, never dreaded any age milestone.

I found 50 the hardest and everyone who knows me loves teasing me about a near future 60th!!
I am totally offended if someone offers me their seat on the subway!!

Had not thought of Flander's Fields in ages....thank you for posting it.

I don't watch Dancing with the Stars, so no comment there,
but as to the age thing, no age really bothered me until I turned 50, but it wasn't the sound of 50 that bothered me, it was when I thought, I am half a century old!
