Busy weekend........

I have to say we have had a busy weekend and got a lot of good jobs done or at least started.

Saturday I got the emerald cedars wrapped in burlap for the winter.  I planted them directly in the way of the north west wind, so they will get hit hard.  On Sunday we made a start on putting up the snow fences.  I'll take a photo of it all when we have got them finished.

Dh worked away in the new basement getting some more insulation done.  We hope to have the new stud walls and the insulation in before Christmas.  However there is such a lot of prep work to do, so its taking a long time to get to the installing the stud wall stage.

I actually got all my Christmas cards written on Sunday.  I was determined to get it done.  This year though I am not doing my yearly news letter.  I write down each year on an excel spreadsheet who I get cards from, and if they included photos, or a note written in the card or a letter.  I think last year I got 5 letters and not many more notes in the cards, so I thought why on earth am I bothering?  If other people can't be bothered why should I?

Oh, but you have a more interesting life than many. And you're famous!! So, . . . . . . they can read your blog. Better than a newsletter!

Liz, might snow again in The Republic

I thought I was a bit premature with the Christmas cards, although at this stage I've only made a few using the computer. Will have to get cracking. You have such a lot to do preparing for winter ... the snow fences sound intriguing. Hope you have a brilliant week.

You did have a busy weekend. I find the weeks and weekends are just flying by. I've finished my Christmas shopping now I just have the wrapping to do.
Then some Christmas cards.
Can't wait to see some pictures of the work your husband is doing on the basement.

I haven't done Christmas cards for a few years - can't say I receive many either - seems to be a dying art.

Another busy weekend for you. I usually put a Christmas newsletter in with my cards but won't be doing that this year either. Most keep up with my blog and send me e-mails letting me know they do. It's a nice way of keeping them in touch.
