Felt a bit like opening a Christmas Present.........

A package came in the mail on Wednesday.  It was a package of fabric from Fabric Spot.  Unfortunately Fabric Spot is closing down on November 17th, and now has 50% off it's fabric.  Most of the fabric I bought was for my "stash," and I only got 40% off.........BOO😞

I did buy these fabrics to use for our local animal shelter fund raiser.
Thought these "Yarn type" fabrics would come in handy.....
May make a quilt with these fabrics..........
A couple of neutrals to add to my stash.
 Some Kona basics here.
I am not a huge fan of Batik patterns but thought I would try this one.
This is pretty and again a different type of pattern for me.
Five fat quarters which are even prettier in person.
So now to get on with some sewing.  I will post a couple of photos of things I made for the animal shelter tomorrow.

It's also our baby's birthday today.  Our daughter is 32 years old today, Happy Birthday and hope you have a lovely day!!

Birthday presents and are you a man or a woman?

Dd main present from us was a Sophie Conran vase to match all her other dinnerware she got as wedding gifts.  Love her in her birthday tiara!!

Her brother got her this birthday card; notice the 7th hand written in!!

The kids were dears and put up the snow fences for us............another job off the list!

I "stole" this from here as I thought it was funny....... Carla was talking about this store on her blog.  So are you a man or a woman when it comes to colours?

SOLD! and happy birthday to our daughter......

A guy came by one Friday night and bought the snow tires from us.  Got $400 for them, wanted $500; regardless they are gone and now I can get snow tires put on my car.  Still have to find another $600 to pay for them, but that's better than $1,000.  Must say I am glad I don't have to deal with this anymore, as there truly are some strange people who troll Kijiji.

It's our daughter's 27th birthday today.  She is like a small child as she is so excited about it.  She was telling me on Friday it was only one more sleep to her birthday!!  Must say it's infectious her enthusiasm for life.  I am making lunch for them all and we are having lasagna or fettuccine Alfredo, Cesar salad and garlic bread.  Followed by apple caramel pie with whipped cream or ice cream.  More or less all from M & M Meats.  I cashed in the $25 discount card when I spent $50.  I also picked up 2 x chicken lasagna, cheese and spinach cannelloni, three cheese pasta, 5 vegetable toasty's (no idea what those are about), steak and vegetable soup and loaded potato soup which I got free for spending over $10.  All in all it cost me $26.

I will post photos of what we got her tomorrow.  I am also getting the baby shower photos on Sunday, so fingers crossed I will be able to share with you on Monday.

On Friday the people down the hill from us was having some sort of fire all day.  I have no idea what on earth they were burning as the smoke was tremendous.  Luckily I didn't have my laundry out, otherwise it would have stunk of smoke.

Sad to hear about Bill Tarmey, "Jack Duckworth's" passing.  Always loved his and Vera's character on Coronation Street.

A bit of this and a bit of that......

As I was reading Kim's blog yesterday, she was worried that the property around her is going to be sold and developed on, taking away her no neighbour living in the country feel.  It made me reflect on where we live.  We have five acres and our neighbour owns 39 acres, all around us.  Imagine a "C" shape, we are the hole in the "C".  Luckily though for us, our township only allows 2 severances per original homestead/farm of 100 acres.  In our case those severances have already been done.  We are the original homestead, the neighbours above us have the 39 acres, and behind us is another property with the rest of the acreage.  So there can be no more dividing of the land.  Also the land directly behind us is so hilly that it's not much use for anything other than pasture.  If anyone wants to put animals in there, they are going to have to re fence the whole property which I actually don't have a problem with.  Also I have no problem living next to a field full of animals.  So I think I can safely say we shouldn't be getting any more neighbours of the human kind any time soon!!

My poor old swiffer gave up the ghost the other day.  I have had it since they first came out, so it has earned its keep!!

The new one looks all very fancy dancy, and is actually a bit longer, as although I am only 5' 5" the old one was a bit short.
We went to dd's on Saturday afternoon and we took them, including ds out for supper to Mr. Greek.  It was good and it had been a while since we had, had Greek food.

I made dd a birthday cake.  However mine isn't as fancy as when she decorates cakes.  Mine was a packet brownie mix, with store bought frosting to go on the top.  Her "pet" name is Cons, that isn't her real name.
I had bought her a cake pan the same as the one I had baked the brownies in, so I took the cake down in the tin, and brought hers home.

Managed to get some more jobs done in the garden, including planting some more spring bulbs.  Fingers crossed the squirrels and the mice don't eat them all!!

Happy 25th birthday to our baby!!!

It's our daughter's birthday today and here is the card I made her:

I talk about her birth story here if you're interested.  Didn't want to bore you with it again.  We got her cake decorating "stuff" and I forgot to take a photo of it all.  Plus I think I got her some other bits and bobs including some necklaces that are actually candy.....thought it was cute and she would enjoy it!

We are all going out for dinner on Saturday night somewhere in Toronto......no idea where though.  I said I fancied Greek, but no one else said anything?

My trip to the dentist was a total waste of time, we have to "watch" the tooth to see if it gets any worse.  Presently it's only aching and I don't have chronic toothache anymore so I guess that is something?  I am seriously considering getting a second opinion as I am not happy with the way my mouth is falling to bits.....   Mind you as dh said it hasn't stopped me talking!!!

Here's our Molly Moo, what a hard life she has!!

This is an female Downy Woodpecker.........

Taking a break.......

back in a while.  Nothing wrong...........
