Went to Costco on Friday. I haven't been in a couple of weeks, so had to get/spend more than I normally would.

We let our Costco membership lapse because it's a long drive and DH isn't comfortable in the car for longer trips. Re bananas - you might like to try what we do...separate them and then when they're at the desired degree of ripeness, freeze them (whole & in their skins). The skins turn black but the fruit is perfectly good. Works for us!
The only good buy I found was cat food. I did find an old grocery receipt in the bag from exactly one year ago. It was interesting to compare prices. The milk last year was 4.29, this year it is 6,29 (at WalMart). It was frequently 3.89 at Shoppers too. I'm going to chat with my farmer friend and ask her if she is getting any more for her milk this year.
No shopping here this week, which is a good thing. I am amazed you get out of Costco with such a small bill. Mind you when we shopped at Costco it was perhaps once every 5 months.

As long as we make a list and stick to it, I don't think it saves any money doing a fortnightly shop rather than a weekly one. I just think I am!!
I was pleased that some of the items on my list had an Aldi price match and some were reduced with my Nectar card.
