Seriously???

Had to go to Michael's on the weekend to pick up a photo frame and saw this:

Everything you need to make your Christmas Wreath's?  I mean who is thinking about this?  It was hovering around the 40 oC mark this past weekend.  Halloween things were in the store along with the Fall decorations, which is bad enough, but Christmas things, way, way too soon for me!

I guess some like to start early and if it's a small business you have to start now to have things ready at the right time. But I know what you mean. It's a bit of a culture shock!

Sorry, Gill! It's about right for me. I've got the extra bits I need for making my Christmas cards on order and hope to have the cards made by the end of the month. Christmas crafting goes on all year in my house and gains momentum from August onwards. I think it dates from the days when I was a vicar and if I didn't have my personal preparations done by the end of October at the very latest I didn't get a "personal" Christmas, just a professional one.

Last week, Halloween and some Christmas were out in the store. It is hard to look at this time of the year.

I was actually giving some thought that I need to make a new wreath this year because the one I have is at least 15 years old! However, it is still too hot to get too in the mood.

Well, you know, it's only 140 days until Christmas! I know this because just this morning on my way to work, the radio announced that Selfridge's has just opened its Christmas section. O.o

Oh, I imagine that the greeting card stores must be getting their Christmas stock out too then. Always in August.

While I don't love to see Christmas trees or ornaments or anything like that at this time of year, I have already finished a Christmas table runner and am starting on place mats, never mind the gifts. Crafting takes time, and in my life I like to have everything finished in terms of making (except for Christmas cookies) by Dec first.

That is insane!! It is much to hot to start on Christmas decorations, I am still working on my list.

God bless.

Yes, some begin early! Otherwise they sell out. Perhaps they just stock up!

Well I started making two advent calendars a couple of weeks ago. Might get them finished by Christmas if I keep going. Also nice to hibernate inside away from the heat!

I must be odd because everybody else is outside sunning themselves.
