"The Straw That Broke The Camel's Back,"

Back when we lived in the farmhouse I took allergy pills on a regular basis as it was cutting the grass and dust from the renovations that bothered me.  When we first moved in here and it was still a construction zone around us and there was a lot of dust, I had to take allergy pills.  However last year I found I could get away without taking them.

Today the drywall was installed in the basement today.  And there is dust from one end of the house to the other.  As the day progressed the worse I felt and my poor nose feels terrible.  So I gave in and took an allergy pill and I guess I will carry on taking them until I have got the basement painted, which won't be until the beginning of June, as despite having the drywall installed, the guy isn't coming to do the taping and mudding until the end of the month {{{SIGH}}}

I look like the female version of this:

Do you get/have allergies?

Not good! And there's not a lot you can do about it.

Oh, yes, allergies are with me almost continually -- especially from December to March with the mountain cedar. For the last two years it seems that it extends into June with elm and oak. I take Claritin daily and sometimes I supplement it with Benadryl.

We are 5 hours away from the fires in Fort McMurray but the smoke arrived here today and now my eyes are red and I can't stop sneezing. Ugh! Thankful for the rain that started to fall tonight. Hope it will take the smoke away and put out the fire!

Be well soon!!

Lots of allergies for me, one of my biggest is scent. I can really pick up when people have used lots of perfume or scent, can stand beside them and sneeze rapidly. And I hardly walk down the laundry detergent aisle at the grocery store.

I do feel for you. I suffered terribly with allergies as a child, in fact, I went through three rounds of immunotherapy, or desensitisation, twice as a hospital in-patient having injections every two hours, and once as an out-patient, but that didn't cure them. I seem to have grown out of them now, for the most part, though some things still bring them on, especially dust, so I always keep some antihistamine tablets handy. Unfortunately, it's been passed on to my son but my daughter has got away lightly. My son uses a nose spray which seems quite effective.

Oh that's no good! I'm sorry you're suffering so with the drywall dust. Mine is pine pollen which has been worse than usual this year due to the abnormally warm spring we had. The past week has seemed a bit better. I hope you have relief very soon.
Blessings,
Betsy

I think I have allergies, but have never been diagnosed as such. I do know in the spring, and fall they are much worse. My nose is constantly running, and bright red.

I do live in a place that has two coal fired electrical plants so that does not help at all. When we moved away from the area I had no sinus problems at all. Move back, and it is a constant problem.... Could I be allergic to dust? More then likely.

God bless.
