Poor old lawn tractor is not well again........

the main belt is slipping, so it is not happy about moving period, so now have to find a belt.  Called Sears parts and spoke to a lovely lady in the Phillipines (I think that is where the call centre is) and was told the part is on a two week back order.  So I'll pop up to Barrie to the parts place and see if they have one on Wednesday.  I have to work today, so can't go today.

I finished up the last of the wedding jam on Monday, and even made a start on my own jam.  We finally got rain on Monday as we were desperate for rain.

Though I would gladly give any rain we got to those poor people in Somalia, it's awful what they are going through over there.

The news seem to be full of bad news at the moment.  What happened in Norway is just terrible and not just for the people who died, but for the people who witnessed it.

In Canada in the news featured Jack Layton stepping down while he fights a second bout of cancer.  Poor man does not look well at all, sending prayers his way for a quick recovery.

Then of course the death of Amy Winehouse, what a shock that was.  However, you just knew something like this was going to happen with the lifestyle she chose to live.  Her voice and music though was a gift to us all and I am sure she will be missed.  Lets hope she will be at peace finally.

Here is one of my favourite songs by Amy:

Its terrible what is happening in the world. It seems like everytime I turn on the TV its more bad news. I hope the people in this world that are hungry get fed. the ones that are angry find comfort and those that are in pain find peace.

It's so strange for me to think that Amy Winehouse and I were born the same year...I still have my whole (hopefully long) long ahead of me, but she is already gone.I have taken to reading the news instead of watching it lately, that way I still know what is going on, but I'm not as upset by all the imagery that goes with it. I find that the media have become terribly sensationalist and often show a lot more than we need to see.

Ah, YOU live in Alliston!I knew I had seen "Alliston" someplace! The hubs and I have been invited to an anniversary party for one of his friends and it is in Alliston! We are thinking about going but not sure yet -- we will see!

With Amy I knew it was just a matter of time... You can only abuse your body so much before it gives out...

As for Jack, pretty sad.. :( Hope he is able to beat it.

Prayers for the rest of the world, I dont know what is wrong with some people! :/

I often don't listen to the news anymore because it seems to get worse and worse. Just once, I'd love to hear some good news, kwim. Hope you can find the belt you need for your lawnmower. Hugs

So much sadness going on in the world. The people of Norway have been through a terrible loss, my heart goes out to them. I'm sad that there are places in the world that still suffer with starvation. Mr. Layton needs our prayers too, I will pray for his recovery from this horrible disease and hope one day there will be a cure for all. As for Amy, once those drugs get a hold of you, it's a hard one to kick. Another waste of yet another young life and those who loved her are suffering today. I have a good friend whose child committed suicide because he couldn't kick it, not with all the love in the world that was there for him. His mum is still suffering at losing her child even all these years. Lots of praying today.
