I seem to be on a roll this week with new recipes. Today is a "DUMP CAKE" I saw this over at Lib's blog and thought it looked good. By the way it took me forever to think of where I saw this recipe at first......I swear I am losing my memory!
This recipe is so simple a child could make it, or even my dh who cannot cook at all!!
So here are the ingredients:
A boxed cake mix
Canned fruit or pie filling
1/2 pound or 2 sticks butter
nuts (optional)
Pop fruit including liquid from the can in the bottom of a 9" x 13" cake pan. I only had a can of pineapple tidbits and I added some strawberries I had in the freezer. I saw this made with a large can of peaches and it looked yummy.
Then dump the cake mix on top of the fruit.
Slice the butter into small pats (like in the photo) and place on top of the mixture. Now some of the recipes call for melting the butter and putting it on top, others say do it like I did it? Also some call for 1/4 pound of butter (1 stick) others say 1/2 pound butter (2 sticks). I put in between that amount as it looked like an awful lot of butter too me.
Place in a 350oC oven for 45 to 60 minutes, again the times varied with each recipe, and cook until golden brown.I have to say it was awfully sweet, but good. It's supposed to feed 10 to 12 people......I would say it's more like 8 portions. This recipe is a keeper, would be great for a dinner party dessert as it could be cooking while you eat your main course. Also it takes seconds to put together. Great with icecream, cream; and we had it with Carnation Milk.

I know I have mentioned this before, but wanted to let you know how I am getting on. At the bottom of this page is an Icon for SwagBucks. That is a site where you can get "stuff" for free. All you basically have to do, is install the SwagBucks toolbar, and instead of using Google for searches use the Swagbucks search engine. There are other way's to get swagbucks and they have codes which come out for swagbucks.
I joined at the end of November and as I am writing this on Tuesday evening, I am 1 swagbuck away from cashing in for another $5 Amazon dot ca e-card. This will make $25 worth of e-cards I have "earned" since November. Its a super simple way of getting free gift cards. It takes me minutes each day to get these swagbucks, and as I am already on the internet, it's simple to do.
Swagbucks is available for people in the States, Canada and the UK. If you do decide to sign up, I would appreciate it if you would sign up under me, here is my link
This came on the radio when I was listening to it........blast from the past: The Bay City Rollers.
Did you remember to pop your money into your Daily Saving's Pot today?
Today's Money Saving Tip:
Talk to your loved ones about what your dreams are. This seems like an odd way to save money, but think about it. If you spend time with the people you love the most and come to some consensus about your dreams, it becomes easy for you all to plan for it. If you’re all planning and working together towards this dream, it becomes easier to stay focused on it and reach it. Set a big, audacious goal together and encourage each other to be financially fit – soon, you’ll find you’re doing it naturally and your dreams are coming closer than ever.
You know this makes sense when you think about it. If you both want the same things, it's so easy.

Dump Cake! I've only ever had it at campouts, cooked in a dutch oven. We used to have it made with cherry pie filling, pineapple and pecans. It's so good!
-Laura at TenThingsFarm, who is pretty sure she has all the ingredients on hand...hm....
That recipe looks great Gill - thanks for haring :)
I'm afraid my money box went backwards today when I pulled money out to pay for science club & the tooth fairy (again!).
I first saw that recipe on The Mobile Home Woman blog (http://themobilehomewoman.com/), if you read that one, it might be where you've seen it before.
I've had this cake before and made it too--It's a favorite that I've totally forgotten about! Now that I'm craving it and have the recipe again, I'll have to make one!! Enjoy your Wednesday!!

Bay City Rollers!! - I was about 8 when they were big. Half the teenage girls seemed to be into the Osmonds and the others into the Rollers. In a moment of being "big" I bought a Donny Osmond single :S
That cake looks awesome! Yum.
Do you search for codes with Swagbucks? I find a get more points that way... I love using the amazon cards :-)
And I too am looking for a recipe I saw online (I blogged asking for help!)... I go from blog to blog so don't always remember where I saw it...
Yes! Dump Cake is wonderful! I've had it before, but didn't know the name was 'Dump Cake.' It's great with peaches ~ sort of a lazy woman's Peach Cobbler. Oh so tasty!
Great tip. I agree 100%. When we started doing this years ago we accomplished so much more. We were on the same page when it came to finances and boy did that help us get to where we are today.
That cake looks so yummie. Too bad I've given up sweets. Hugs
Dump cake! Sounds funny but looks so good. Ahhh The Rollers, I'll just get my tartan out & swoon to Woody! xxx
That cake sounds yummy, will have to try it when family comes for dinner. Thanks for sharing the Dump Cake site too. Patricia
SCREAM!!! Without reading your post I scrolled down and looked at the pics! I have not had dump cake in a gazillion years....and I love the stuff! I've gotta make some soon! By the way, don't mind if the pervs visit my site as long as they behave themselves. They won't stay long when they see the condoms, nudity and breast pump aren't what they were looking for. LOL

Oh Bay City Rollers, I just loved the clip. I felt quite sad watching it as I was wishing I could briefly go back to those carefree days. I just loved the boys♥♥♥
I actually saw Les McKeown, the lead singer several years ago performing with his band, had to admit it was a great show.
Check out www.lesmckeown.com There is an upcoming tour with The Osmands, David Essex, Leo Sawyer and Les McKeown's Legendary Bay City Rollers.
