I can't win an argument normally.........

especially with the grandchildren!  I personally think all three year old's should be lawyers as they all have the art of negotiating down pat!!  So imagine my surprise when I discovered I had won a competition.  I live behind an author and she was having a Facebook competition to guess how many words she would write in a month.  What would you think?  The answer will be at the bottom of the post.  I came the closest without going over.  She handed me my prize over the fence yesterday 😊  I am as pleased as punch with the prize.

I got a signed copy of one of her books:
and this lovely mug and pen.
If you have a moment you can read  more about her here.

Now onto something completely different.  I was looking at this bag of peas I had in my freezer:
What other types of peas are they if they're not 100% natural?

Answer to the question was just under 24,000 words, I guessed around 23,500.  That's a lot of words isn't it?

Congratulations! What a lovely win!
I laughed about the peas. It's like the salted peanut packaging that says 'warning - may contain nuts'. Well, I would sincerely hope so!

Congratulations! I see applesauce advertised as "gluten-free." Food producers hope we buy by "labels" instead of a product. You do have to be on your toes to talk with a three-year-old.

Congratulations on the win!
As for the peas - it reminds me of all the signs I see in the supermarkets that say "Gluten Free" as though this is a brand new product - 9 times out of 10 it's something that has never, ever contained gluten! Or - there is one of those spa places in the underground next to Holt Renfrew and they always have a salesman out front trying to give you "free" samples - you'd think by now he'd recognize me as the woman who always says "No Thank You" - one day I couldn't stand the "but it's all natural - it's organic" spiel in longer - so I'm afraid I replied = "Arsenic is also organic but I'm not using that either"! The terms "natural" and "organic" have really lost their impact with all the overuse and meaningless hype.
Enjoy the book!

Congratulations on your winning.

Children always seem to win an argument. Mainly because I used to end up saying "Because I said so" to mine. Not quite the great debate winning argument.

God bless.

Congratulations Gill.

No you stand no chance with grandchildren. Even when they are older the attitude is that you know nothing because what you do know is old stuff which is out of date. Let's face it how can you know anything when you didn't have the Internet (the source of all true information) when you were young!
