well other than finally there is some actual white in this house along with some colour.........I mean builder's beige does get old fast believe me; is that when I decorate I have Stingray Music on the TV and listen to the oldies station. It's good to catch up with all the great tunes and hear ones you haven't heard in a while like this one:
Dinner on Friday night was good. I didn't take any photos, but I will describe what we had. We started with a platter of assorted starters, basically samples of various things, which included pickerel in a tempura batter, antipasto, chicken and pork kebab, and a giant shrimp with seafood sauce. That was okay, not the best but not the worst.
For our main, I had sesame seed crusted salmon, with jasmine rice, various steamed veggies and a "salad" of mini sprouts. It was all perfect, right down to the steamed veggies, 10 out of 10. Dh had bacon wrapped pork tenderloin, with mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. Again dh said it was really good. For dessert, dh had Lindt Chocolate cheesecake and I had the Bailey's Irish Cream creme brulee, that was 100 out of 10, I could have just eaten that all night. Gosh it was good. Dh had a couple glasses of wine, while I had water with my meal.........I am a cheap date!!1
A bit of a sad note. There was a funeral party there and the deceased was a young man in his 30's. They were all on the patio drinking and then came into the restaurant to have their meal just as we were going. Always sad when it's a younger person who has died.
This is the third year in a row we have been to the same restaurant for our wedding anniversary, we both decided next year we need to try something different!!
Do you dine out in a fancy restaurant's for special occasions?

Getting rid of beige is reason enough to celebrate, throw in an anniversary and it's a great cause for a meal out! The meal sounds super. We always go to the same place for a "special" celebration. We go about 4 times per year, not so often that you get tired of it.
we may do something like Montanas where we sit down and are served a meal for special events. glad you had a nice meal out! sad about the funeral
Sorry about the funeral.
I remember that!
Today it's mt blog birthday.
Glad you got rid of the builder's beige! We go out for birthdays sometimes, and always do something special for our anniversary! Sometimes it is a special dinner, but Jim and I usually go away for a night or two.

We have a favourite Indian restaurant for special occasions, and generally eat the same things, too! We go so rarely but it's always a lovely treat. Your meal sounds gorgeous. Happy Anniversary!
Your night out anniversary celebration sounded very nice, Gill, even though unfortunately there was a funeral repast nearby. We try to dine out for our special occasions, but also for the joynof dining out as well!
Thank you for your visit and comment

The pork kebob would certainly interest me!
I thought at first I remembered the song, but then I don't. I am afraid I am one to stick with some place I know is good! I would probably go back there if everything was as good as you say. I guess it is a good thing I have a husband who likes to try new places.
Sounds like you had a lovely anniversary dinner. We don't tend to dine out at fancy restaurants. Chuck hates getting dressed up! If he can just wear jeans he's happy.
Well that song brings back the memories!! We don't often go to the same restaurant twice unless we really really like it - London has SO many restaurants... there always seems to be a new one opening up.
Sounds like a lovely anniversary meal, we don't tend to go out very often, if we do it just for a curry.
I used to listen to Smooth 70's station, my daughter used to say that surely they would eventually run out of music to play! Strange because i can't seem to find that station now, lol.
Dinner sounds yummy. We tend to stick with a few favorite places for special occasions, none of them very fancy. Our favorite right now is casual but the food is great...farm to table mostly. We live in a touristy area and I really can't think of a really fancy restaurant where you would be out of place in jeans or shorts around here. Would have to drive to a big city about an hour away I think.
we do
Sounds like a nice night out albeit tinged with sadness. We tend to eat out for celebrations.
