Managed to get one small finish this week a simple baby hat. I have also started "The Mermaid Chair," by Sue Monk Kidd on my Kobo. I sent a request in electronically back in March to order this book for the Kobo and I got it this week. I guess if they get numerous requests for certain e-books, when funds allow they order them.
I used this pattern for this hat, Super simple and didn't tax my knitting skills too much. I also love this type of hat for little ones. I knit it in the newborn size, and from that 50g ball of cotton yarn I have a bit left.
This is part of a gift for a newborn called Hannah who was born at the beginning of the month. I would love to fill you in on more information of this little one, but it was like pulling teeth getting the name out of my dh. You know men, not really fussed about the details!!
Back to the book, I reviewed "The Invention of Wings," and "The Secret Life of Bees," earlier in the year. Both also by Sue Monk Kidd.

Beautiful hat! I do have the Mermaid Chair on my nightstand to read. I will be watching for your review of it. Have a great day.
Such a cute hat!
love the baby hat, great colorway. :)
Charming hat, lucky baby!
Cute hat :)
I vaguely recall watching the Secret Life of Bees, but I am guessing the book is much better?
x
I love the color of the hat! It makes me think of the sea, which is perfect with the title of the book. :)
Gorgeous hat! I will have to look for that book as I loved The Secret Life of Bees and this one sounds interesting.
Gorgeous color for your hat!
I love Sue Monk Kidd! :) The Secret Life of Bees is one of my favourites. I also really love the colour of that wee hat. It looks so fresh and summery. :)
You mean like this:
Colin:'Lorin and Ruth had a baby'
me: 'what did they have?'
Colin: 'a baby'
:)
Lovely hat! The color is so perfect for boy or girl and the cotton looks so soft. Nicely done! :)

I like the color of the baby hat. A sweet and soft gift for a newborn. :^)
Beautiful gift, such a lovely colour.
Well, having trouble everywhere I go...cannot see your pics...running a scan on my computer and then going to restart to see if things work better.
Oh, now I see...did the restart on my computer and now things are showing up. I LOVE the color of the hat...I bet it will be nice and warm.
That hat is darling!
Lovely hat - at least you got a name!!
Love your baby hat. I will have to look up the mermaid chair. Thx for visiting my blog.
Wow, you're knitting has really come on, it's so sweet xx
Mermaid Chair wasn't my favorite book by the author. I've made that baby hat a bunch of times, too.
Thanks for your comment on my blog (can't reply by email, as your email address doesn't show) - glad you are planning to read along sometimes - and yes, sorry, no follower button on that blog, though there's the option to follow along on my quilting/art blog...
I do like that hat and the color is wonderful.
I bet the hat looks great on the little one!
lovely hat and the yarn looks so very soft :) I didn't care for that book as compared to the secret life of bees which I loved!.
I enjoy Sue Monk Kidd's books a lot and really liked The Secret Life of Bees DVD which I got from the local library. Now I'm wondering if by chance The Mermaid's Chair has been made into a film.
