Simple Baby Hat - Yarn Along

Managed to get one small finish this week a simple baby hat.  I have also started "The Mermaid Chair," by Sue Monk Kidd on my Kobo.  I sent a request in electronically back in March to order this book for the Kobo and I got it this week.  I guess if they get numerous requests for certain e-books, when funds allow they order them.

I used this pattern for this hat,  Super simple and didn't tax my knitting skills too much.  I also love this type of hat for little ones.  I knit it in the newborn size, and from that 50g ball of cotton yarn I have a bit left.
This is part of a gift for a newborn called Hannah who was born at the beginning of the month.  I would love to fill you in on more information of this little one, but it was like pulling teeth getting the name out of my dh.  You know men, not really fussed about the details!!

Back to the book, I reviewed "The Invention of Wings," and "The Secret Life of Bees," earlier in the year.  Both also by Sue Monk Kidd.

Cute hat :)
I vaguely recall watching the Secret Life of Bees, but I am guessing the book is much better?

I love the color of the hat! It makes me think of the sea, which is perfect with the title of the book. :)

I love Sue Monk Kidd! :) The Secret Life of Bees is one of my favourites. I also really love the colour of that wee hat. It looks so fresh and summery. :)

You mean like this:
Colin:'Lorin and Ruth had a baby'
me: 'what did they have?'
Colin: 'a baby'

Mermaid Chair wasn't my favorite book by the author. I've made that baby hat a bunch of times, too.

I enjoy Sue Monk Kidd's books a lot and really liked The Secret Life of Bees DVD which I got from the local library. Now I'm wondering if by chance The Mermaid's Chair has been made into a film.
