Last week our local Home Hardware had a grand re-opening sale. One of the great deals was Beauti-Tone Velvet paint at just over $20 a gallon after tax. It's normally double that price. We made sure we could buy now and tint (add colour) later and bought ten gallons.
This Saturday we popped in to see what colour's we liked and they had the semi-gloss on sale for $30 + tax per gallon. So we picked up a gallon of that.
All the paint chip colours are for Beauti-Tone paints. We are going pretty neutral and in my "usual" colour pallette!! Not 100% sure what room will be what, but I think the green F037-0 will be the powder room. CZ13-0 will be the dining room, it's a dark room. CZ15-4 will be the rest of the main floor. I am thinking CZ16-4 for our bedroom, or at least one wall, as we have an extra high ceiling in there. As I said that's what I am thinking today, by tomorrow it could be completely different!
I submitted out Year End list to the builder last week, of things that need attention that should be covered under the warranty. They have until the middle of October to complete these jobs {{{SIGH}} Of course some of the things that need attention are walls and ceilings; so although I can paint some area's I cannot paint them all.
I am however going to start on the trim, as there is a lot I can get done when the whole house needs painting. I always seem to start decorating when the hot weather arrives. At least we have a/c so I'll just hike that up.
I have had good luck with this brand of paint and it doesn't hurt that when you buy six cans of paint you get one free. I have one more to buy then I get a can free.
Anyone else decorating?

You are certainly going to be busy, great price on the paint.
My house is badly in need of decorating and all sorts of maintenance, but because the landlord is such a mean *******, I refuse to improve his property for him !
Anyway, a move is on the cards so I'm saving every penny I can.
we bought our home in 2013 and are in the process of making it our own. I just painted the front steps yesterday after sanding them. Our kitchen cabinets need to be done too but this is a HUGE job that I am not ready for yet. we replaced the roof this year so I guess my project list is done for now. love your colors
I love that you can buy now and add the colour later, what a great idea. Decorating is on the list here, but we are putting it off and refusing to mention it to each other!
I like your colour choices. We have a very similar green in our kitchen. The stone colour is nice too. Have you looked at some light greys? We moved from stone to a warm light grey in our living areas and hall in this house and if you are careful, greys can be surprisingly warm.
Love your choice of colours Gill, they are my favourites and we have them throughout the house. We have paint for the front hall, well its' not actually a hall more of an entry way that leads up to the main living area and down to the lower level. Hubby is putting in a door at the bottom into the well cupboard under the stairs first before the painting begins. That British saying of 'Never hurray a Murray" holds true in this house :)
Great that you can decide on the colour later and still get a deal on the paint.
We're in the middle of doing the bathroom. So far it's been steam cleaned, the paper has been stripped, the walls, ceiling and woodwork have been painted, storage and 2 mirrors have been revamped and a new light fitting fitted. Just need to wallpaper, hang the mirrors and curtain pole, put up the window dressing I've made and renew the shower sealant. For a small room there's quite a lot of work!
Those first four looks like colors my daughter would choose, and actually I like them too. The green one...I had this one color that looked like that on cloudy days and looked entirely different on sunny days. I actually like it and liked that it changed, but it sure surprised me when it happened. I had not expected it.
We've just been doing some decorating in the hallway. I absolutely love your colour selections, I have a similar green in our house and some of the other shades xx
I've promised Ella a 'big girl' room. But I have to do a major tidy-up upstairs to try and make room for her furniture to go somewhere. Her room is far to small to do the old 'paper around furniture trick'. And yes, her room has to be papered. Our walls (lath and plaster) are not in paintable shape -100 years of the train running by hasn't helped.
The green looks alot like our bathroom. Good choice.
No idea if this would help or be more of a PITA....can you take down the trim...esp by the doors...and paint it and reattach? Save all that cut in!
I'm doing my fair share of decorating/updating, as well. I've done a lot of painting this year and quite a bit last year. Very easy to do and much cheaper when you do it yourself. And I don't mind painting at all. It's the preparation and cleanup that bugs me!
I have the paint and I've painted in the past but somehow don't have the inclination to work at it. I wish I did and I find your post inspiring indeed. It seems I don't have the time but if I organized my time a bit better I would :( I'll be following your ambition with keen interest.

Wow Gill you will be busy! I see one of your colours is very similar to the colour we are painting the main floor in. Good choice!
I like your choice of colours! I hope the builder fixes everything on your list.
i wish you good luck, Did that when we moved in here and it's not going to be redone for a million years
We've just bought umpteen tins of fence paint at a bargain price so I know how my summer will end up!
xx
My dad would be in his element- he regularly did house painting jobs, particularly when the kids were younger, to supplement the family income.
Its like you learn my thoughts! You seem to know
so much about this, like you wrote the e book in it or something.
I feel that you could do with a few p.c. to power
the message house a bit, however other than that, that is great blog.
A great read. I'll certainly be back.
