So my dear friend Wiley Coyote had to be chased away a couple of times on Saturday from the raspberry patch. Dh went after it one time, then I caught him/her back in there later on, so I put my wellies on and picked up the sweeping brush and headed down the field to chase him/her away. He/her knew I meant business, and I wasn't happy. Even if there had been a few of them I would have chased them all away. I was so ticked off. Any other year I wouldn't mind sharing my raspberries with the wildlife, but I need every one last raspberry as I need to make at least 100 1/2 pint jars of jam for wedding favors.
So after supper when it was a little cooler, still in the 80's though, I went and picked raspberries for around 90 minutes. Below is what I got picked.
There is enough there for nearly two batches of jam. I will be outside first thing on Sunday morning to pick more and hopefully on Sunday afternoon I will make a start on making the jam.
I need to make around 13 batches of raspberry jam and 2 or 3 batches of blackcurrant jam. So I guess I am going to be busy for the next few weeks................

good on you, they look sooooo yummy.
The coyote will have to find something else to eat.
Well -you live and learn ! I thought they were all meat eaters-hope you manage to make enough jam for the wedding favours !x
That puts my little raspberry cane to shame, Gill. Glad you showed your authority to the coyote. I was busy photographing a fox this morning. Fortunately, or unfortunately for him, there's nothing to eat but bird seed and berries.
You'll have to call it "coyote" jam! ;) Hope you're able to pick enough for all your jars!! :)
Good for you on chasing that coyote away and saving the raspberries!
My husband and I did something similar for our wedding. The theme was "jam" with Mike and Cherie. Michael provided the entertainment by Jamming with his band and I gave out bottles of jam to everyone. The idea was that we were supposed to make a memory- a nice day of memories Picking berries making jam with all the ladies of the two families something together. My mom went and bought 100 Jar from a church sale figuring she did me a favour. She totally missed the point :/ I think it is amazing that you plan to make the jam yourself let alone grow the fruit too! You will have to let us know how it was recieved! :)
we went to a wedding last year where they made tiny jars of jam for favours, they were beautiful and so useful! she was also into stamping so they turned out pretty
