Hot, hot, hot......

We're in the middle of a heatwave at the moment, with temperatures to hit the mid-40's (100 oF+) by the middle of the week.  Thank goodness for a/c as there is no way we would survive in this heat and humidity.

Dh took me out to our closest major mall, Georgian Mall in Barrie, to see if there was any suitable outfits for this wedding.  Scored a big fat zero.  So I have decided to go downtown Toronto next weekend to see if I can find something.  For those of you in Canada, I popped into The Bay in the mall, and not only do they NOT carry plus sizes, they don't carry petite sizes, which I thought was rather strange.  I know it is a smaller mall, but you would think they would carry both plus and petite sizes?  We are going to check out this store as I saw a number of outfits I like on their site.

I still can't leave messages on these blogs:John D

Patricia from Piece By Piece  UPDATE, I CAN NOW POST COMMENTS ON PATRICIA'S BLOG!!

Karine

If you could allow anonymous comments, then I will be able to leave a message.  I am sure there are others I have the same problem with, I just can't think of them off the top of my head.

Finally, someone is looking very relaxed:

The heat is getting to Molly also.  However I have started giving her one Benadryll pill in the morning 25mg, and she isn't suffering as much with her allergies, so that's some good news.  Plus it's a heck of a lot cheaper than the vets pills I get for her.

I hate the hot humid weather. Our summer was just like that!
A lady from another blog told me to untick the keep me logged in box. the one you see when you log in. that has helped with the comments.
Hope this helps, stay cool and good luck looking for something to wear. I hate cloths shopping.

Just looked at Ediths site.....If I went into the store they would have to drag me out at closing time;I'd be clinging onto the doorposts sobbing.

Hello Gill
We lived in Singapore for a few years - now thats hot and humid every day 365 days of the year. We were acclimatised within a couple of weeks. It was so hard going back to England when there was snow on the ground
I was going to say the same as Angela - choose Google account and untick the box. Should work.
You really are having a bit of a palava with the dress shopping. lets hope you have more joy this week. No chance you know a good dressmaaker?
Take care
Cathy

Dear, dear Molly. Glad the Benadryl is working for her. Still very hot here. They are shipping more cattle north. Water toxemia is becoming a problem for the herds; when they get to water they over-consume because of the heat and die. Stay in, and stay cool! ~Liz

We are fortunate where I'm living now...we don't get the humidity you guys get or what we use to get. I can take the heat (somewhat) however the humidity does me in. Molly looks quite comfortable!! Hugs

Hi Gill,

I just went and tweaked my blog settings so that anonymous comments are allowed. I actually didn't even know that they weren't! It's really weird that you all of a sudden couldn't comment anymore!

For the dress, you can also try going to Laura. I found dresses for two weddings and my prom there (way back when lol) at quite reasonable prices and they have both plus and petite sizes. They also have a really good sale on right now, so it's more than likely worth a look!

I bought my dress from Edith's for my son's wedding. Thank goodness I found them because I was desperate at that point. They had quite a good selection and I had only one fitting for the alteration which was a major one. I was very pleased.
