Quiet day at the Acreage.......

I had a horrible headache on Monday and it wouldn't go away.  Not sure if its a migraine or its sinuses?  All I know is it's so annoying.  Despite that I did manage to get a couple of little jobs done around the house.  We had snow flurries on and off all day, not amounting to much, but have to admit its starting to look more and more like Christmas.

Since we have got this new internet I have decided to enter more competitions online.  So far haven't won a thing, but have high hopes I will one day!!  Do any of you enter competitions and how much luck do you have?  What's the best thing you have won?  Do you have any tips?

No Christmas Party is complete without this tune playing a dozen times!!

Feliz Navidad!!!

Hope you feel better tomorrow Gill. I will be interested to read other comments about entering competitions. It's been a long time since I did one.

Hello Gill
What sort of competitions are you entering - I tried one on the back of the cornflakes packet once but had no luck. Thought my answer was quite clever - obviously they didn't lol
Favourite song so far - Johnny Mathis singing 'When a child is born'. He is one of my fav. singers by far, could listen to him forever - Twelfth of Never is 'our' song. Lots of twelves had have meaning during our life together. Do you and your Dh have one?
Take care
Cathy

don't go in for competitions & never win in raffles / tombolas !

I feel a teeny spark of Christmas having gone to our village late night shopping which is always pretty & cheerful with glasses of sherry or mulled wine & mince pies being handed out everywhere - hic !

I enter some occassionally. One day a huge box arrived here, with DVDs of a couple of TV series. I puzzled over them for ages, then finally found a label & realised they were a prize from a contest I'd entered months back.

Gill: I've been entering contests online for a few years and never won a thing. I also complete those online 'feedback' surveys which come with your receipt from various places and promise instant winnings or being part of a draw from gift certs. or $$.
to date. Won NOWT!

Sorry about your headache...I've had one since yesterday too, but it's gotten colder here in the past few days and we've got a huge snowstorm coming and I do tend to get weather migraines, so that's probably the culprit in my case.

As for contests, I enter them quite often, but have never won a thing...even when I was expecting to!

Gill, hope you are feeling better today. Hope your brother is resting better. That was so scary.

I don't enter contests, generally. I just don't like to give out very much personal information.

I've won a few things on blogs I read: some sock yarn, a kit for a knitted beaded scarf (silk/wool blend.) I haven't seen any contests lately on the blogs I read though. Maybe after Christmas.

Gill, I hope you will be feeling better soon.
I love the Christmas songs you have posted on this site.
Today was one of my favorites and it was nice to see the video.

Cathy the water surveys seem to be pretty good for winning things, I also won something doing a survey over the phone. Another survey was for our bank.

Ok I loved yesterday's video, but I'm not sure I can do Feliz Navidad even once, let alone a dozen times! Ha ha!

What kind of internet did you get? We got FIOS a while back and man, it's so much nicer, and we can do so much more with it.
