Busy day on Tuesday........

Not sure about you, but I don't leave the house everyday.  I hadn't left the house since Saturday, so on Tuesday I ran some errands.

Headed out to Costco for a few things.  This little lot cost just over $86.  I spent $105 at Walmart on Friday.  I guess you just have to smile and pay up right?  Pointless complaining about it, despite the fact it's ridiculous the price of food nowadays.

The good news, some of this stuff will last multiple weeks.

Popped into HomeSense and picked up these dryer balls.  I have some wool ones and they are icky, so figured I would try the plastic ones.  I paid $9.99 for these.  I could have got a pack of four for the same price, but they looked a lot cheaper quality.  I only use two normally so figured I would give them a try.

Thought it was interesting that it had this little comic strip on the side of the box.
I also picked up this art kit on clearance for $12 and the little sketch book.  I figured I would give my artistic side a whirl with the help of the tik tok videos, to see if there is an artist lurking inside of me somewhere?
I decided to make a quick couscous salad.  1 cup of couscous in a pan of boiling salted water (1 cup of water)  Leave for five minutes or until cooled.  Add in veggies : finally chopped red onion, grape tomatoes, baby cucumber, and a handful of crumbled feta cheese.  Add salad dressing of choice, I used the Kraft Balsamic.
I decided on a different plan of action with this flipping puzzle and sorted the remaining pieces into same shaped piles.  I WILL GET THIS PUZZLE FINISHED THIS WEEK!!!
Decided to get a 45 minutes session in on the treadmill.  I try and do this a few times a week.  As you can see I walked 2.362 miles or 3.8 km.  The 317 is calories and my speed was between 3.0 - 3.2 miles per hour.  Incline only got up to 2, as my ligaments are tight behind my knees.
Wednesday will be a day spent in the house.

Update: by supper time on Tuesday I had finished the puzzle, sorting out the puzzle pieces into shapes helped a lot.

A $14.68 fix........

Dd and the girls popped up for a visit on the weekend.  Amongst the things we did we had a trip to Homesense for a look around.  Miss N. felt very grown up carrying Nana's handbag.

Miss P's hands were full with "Scarf Bear!!"

As soon as we walked through the door we saw this display.  I LOVE those milk boxes, really cute.
The girls took Timmy the Turtle home and here he is in their garden.
I found a new ironing board cover.  This is why the title of the post is $14.68 ($12.99 plus 13 % tax = $14.68)

So on Monday I too off my old ironing board cover and underneath it I had put tin foil, which had rusted through.
When I removed the tin foil, it was even more rusty, but very serviceable.
So covered it with new tin foil.
Added the new ironing board cover and everything is good too go.
Remembered to cut off any usable hardware.
Then bundled it all up and threw out the old cover and tin foil.  It looks nasty doesn't it?

Should be all good for a few more years.

Made out like a bandit....

Dh was home on Friday, so we popped up to the mall in Barrie as Bath and Bodyworks has a good sale on at the moment.  Plus I got a $10 off coupon when I spent $30.  This is what I picked up:
I got 14 bottles of hand soap for under $28.  I am set for the rest of this year and probably part of next.  I have them out in two places, the powder room and the kitchen.  Very pleased with what I got.

We then went to HomeSense (HomeGoods in the States) and I picked up a few things, including a couple of birthday gifts and a couple of stocking stuffers.  However for ourselves I got this:
It's a set of four very small plates, big enough for a cupcake or muffin, or maybe a cookie or two.  At $9.99 for the set they are lovely; I may even go back and buy another set.

We also got a new set for our bathroom, but didn't realize until we got it home one piece is different!  I swear we are going senile the pair of us.
Then as we are seeing Our Little Munchkin on Sunday I bought her some stickers.  She loves stickers and crafts in general.

Fall flowers

I was at the grocery store the other day and they had a lovely display of fall flowers for sale. This tub was $55 CDN which I thought was a ...
