Little House on the Prairie...............

Netflix is bringing a rebooted version of Little House on the Prairie on screen in July 2026.

I am not sure how I feel about this.  I don't think you should mess with this classic.  The same with The Waltons or Mash, they are all classic shows.  I don't think a newer version will do it justice, just my opinion.

What are your thoughts?

I hope they don’t ruin my memories.
I guess we will just have to wait and see

It's a good way of bringing the story to a new generation, but I suppose it depends on how much they honour the original story. I watched a modern version of the classic film The Ladykillers a few years ago and it was full of swearing. It completely killed the charm. I'm not suggesting that they would do that to Little House on the Prairie, just that they might try too hard to make it 'relevant' to life today.

theres whole generations who never saw a lot of the classic TV and films we did , so i dont feel its wrong , doesnt mean theyre good remakes but they will be politically correct

I saw that advertised somewhere this week and thought it would be neat to watch.

I more or less agree with you, but that said, the new version of "All Creatures Great and Small" is as good as the original. Do you follow Laura Ingalls Gunn's blog, decortoadore.net? Or maybe .org. She's a descendant on Laura W. and often writes about it and the reunion events, even designing costumes. She has a "Little House" tab on her menu bar where those posts are archived.

That was one of the first books I was allowed to purchase. For some reason my parents didn't value having books, and my mom rarely took us to the library. I adored all of Laura Ingles Wilder's books, and loved the TV show.

It won't be as good as the original - and who exactly asked for it? However, folks do love the Oregon Trail game, so maybe they would enjoy this too!

I never watched many episodes of Little House but I imagine a new version won't be as good as the original. So many other shows haven't benefited from remakes.

Can't wait. I hope they honour the original, but of course without the racism.

I am not sure how I feel, but remakes are never as good as the original I fear.

God bless.

I find it really sad that there are so many remakes. These are classics because they were different and well done.

New pots and pans..........

So I finally got around to ordering and receiving a new set of pots and pans.  I ended up getting them from here: I got this set in green. ...
