I have a new Fitbit friend. She is actually one of dd's ex-bosses. They are still very good friends, and I knew she did a lot of walking; and as she is on a years sabbatical from work she is doing even more walking.
The rest of my Fitbit friends all work so don't do as much walking as I. So dd hooked us both up and now we are Fitbit friends and have started a Workweek Hustle challenge.
You have to see how many steps you can do from 12:01 am Monday to 11:59 pm Friday. This will motivate me to up my game I am sure.
I did have a good week this past week. I walked 41.5 miles, and had over 97,000 steps. It did help that the weather was pretty good all week as well. I managed to so nearly 22,000 steps yesterday and earned another badge, my High Top one for walking 20,000 steps in one day. So I was happy about that.
I have lost 31 lbs, so I am still slow and steady in that but at least I am not putting it back on. I will have been walking six months on December 24th.
Oh and if I can do it, anyone can...........remember how I use to say I was allergic to exercise all the time? Well it still applies, walking is about as much as I am willing to do but I like it so that's all that matters!!
Any other people using a Fitbit out there that would like to join in with future challenges?

That's a great achievement, both the walking and the weight loss. Over two stone is not to be sniffed at, really well done!

Kudos to you Gill! It got really cold over here. What do you wear while walking? I catch a cold very easily. Do you cover your mouth? I am sure you know better than I do. So, I appreciate the feedback.
I can hardly wait to get my new knee so I can get in on the FitBit plan. My daughter is right into it too. Exactly two years ago she got her Fitbit and got working on challenges with my sister. My sis has dropped it but DD has stuck with it and a year ago this Christmas ran her first marathon in Toronto! She has dropped quite a bit of weight and looks fantastic. And it all started with a fitbit....
Well done Gil! That's a significant amount of weight lost! Walking is my favourite form of exercise which I combine with nature photography. It's great you've found walking companionship - the miles and steps will fly by I'm sure!
I would love to join your challenge, not right now but on January 1st. Life is getting in the way of doing a lot of walking at the present time.
You have done a fantastic job loosing all of that weight. congrats, I am sure you feel better for it too. I am a bit overweight, but could loose 10 - 15 lbs. but as the years add up so do the lbs.

My Christmas gift from hubby is a fitbit. Can't wait to get started.
Well done, Gill! Congratulations all around. That's a terrific weight loss and doing it while doing something you're actually enjoying is a bonus. I love that you continue to challenge yourself. I need to take a page out of your book and find a Fitbit or something similar and start challenging myself. I can always find an excuse not to do something. I need to change that around and find excuses TO do it. Look forward to hearing about your new year challenges! x
That is a amazing accomplishment. I am a fitbit walker as well. It really does motivate you.
PS: what sort of Fitbit do you have? Now I want one (yes, will budget for it!) but just want to know if there's one that is a preferred type, or if any will do, etc. Thanks! xx
Good for you on the weight loss! I get a lot of walking in every day, but have never measured it.
