Blog maintenance and cleaning.........

It's high time I did a bit of blog maintenance.  I need to sort out the side bars, sort out all the blog links at the top.  Just spruce it up a bit.  However I think that is a cold wet Fall days job, and as it is still hot and humid here it may be a few more weeks away yet.

How often do you tinker with your blog?

Also do you do Spring and back end/Fall cleaning around the house?  I don't, which is the complete opposite to the way I was brought up.  I remember us having both Summer and Winter curtains/drapes that had to be changed over, does anyone still do that?  As we don't have drapes on our windows just blinds in the bedrooms as no one can see in the house, there is no need to change anything.

I haven't cleaned the windows in ages as well.  Although a dear friend was saying it is better to have dirty windows as that way the birds don't fly in them.  I'm guessing then that this window is still not dirty enough, as the birds are forever flying into it!!

To the right of the window is an apple tree and my four legged friend was there the other morning eating the apples off it.  Talked to the wildlife control and other than shooting it, which I won't do we just have to play the waiting game and hope it wanders off to pastures new at some point.  Haven't seen it since Friday, so it must have been away on a weekend trip somewhere!!!

Off to work today, have a terrific Tuesday.

It amazes me, the amount US bloggers who decorate their houses with the seasons - autumnal things in fall, halloween, Thanks Giving, Chrismas, Easter, 4th of July... I have enough trouble taking down the Chrissie decorations in January (or um, February!). I certainly don't have time to change curtains, throw rugs and quilt covers. Ours are the same all year round. I do like to spring clean a bit but I tend to do it at New Years and in winter, ready for spring.

Cheers - Joolz

I do blog maintenance more than the house cleaning. It's less energetic...grins.

Great photos, Gill. I think that Spring/Fall cleaning is a thing of the past. We are all too busy to even think about it!

I tinker with my blog all the time but all I seem to do is add more widgets! lol!

I tinker with it every time I get a bit bored. More fun than a box of new crayons! And thanks for the new desktop picture of your pet. I tinker with the desktop all the time! ~Liz

That 4 legged friend is going to eat everything in his path I think. I didn't realize they loved fruit so much. Hugs

I do mess with the blog from time to time -- I think it is fun to re-design it. I don't do spring cleaning and never really did. I try to stay on top of things from day to day and I really, really try not to accumulate too much although my magazine "problem" is a real sickness. I don't have drapes or curtains on anything -- and I don't miss them. We don't have carpet either so it is a fairly easy to maintain place.

Your four legged friend is scary. We had a whole family of coyotes living along the creek across the street but then they built a shopping center and they went away. However, I don't think they have gone far because one was recently spotted in our neighborhood. They were interesting to watch across the street -- not so great in our backyard!

Eek! That wolf would have scared me 1/2 to death! I don't think I'd be setting foot outside with those in my yard!!

I certainly wish someone lived closer to me to help/show me some in's and outs of setting up my blog more properly, since I am not too blogger savvy .... oh well that is "just me". lol Love your daily visitor, but hope he doesn't come too close to the house, as there has been quite the problem with them around my neck of the woods.

No, I don't do the cleaning like mmy mom used to do, or a neighbor for that matter...after we moved back to Indiana...we made friends with some neighbors and that woman took each room in her house apart and cleaned and cleaned...always felt like dirt would not dare show its face at her house.

I need to wash windows real bad...could not do that this spring with my shoulder the way it was. I usually clean both inside and outside only once a year though....sometimes certain windows get the inside cleaned more than once.

This is a nice post. I never heard of that birds do not fly in dirty windows. :)
