Nasty, nasty, nasty

also, itchy, itchy, itchy.  I am having bad reactions to insect bites this year.  This one is on the top of my under arm and is driving me crazy.

I even went into town to get some oral medication to take, as the Benedryl stick just wasn't doing the job at all.  So I took two Benedryl pills just after 11 am, and then rang Jane but I ended up having to cut the conversation short as I could hardly keep my eyes open.  I ended up going to bed for an hour, but still felt groggy after I got up.  So I guess I won't be taking many of those pills.

I checked my site meter for the first time in a while and it seems I am averaging around 324 people visiting my blog.  To all of you a big, big thank you for popping by to read my blog.  Please feel free to leave a comment, as I love to read them. ( I have installed a site meter it's at the bottom of the page and was free, so anyone can install one here is a link: http://www.sitemeter.com/)

Picked another pile of raspberries also on Monday morning, so will make jam on Wednesday.  I think I will have more than enough rasps to make all my jam.  It is stinking hot around here, so hibernating indoors with the a/c on.  I have no idea how we managed the first year here without a/c, even Molly is just going out to do her business and is right back in again because of the heat.

Off to work today, have a terrific Tuesday everyone!!

Oooh, that does look nasty. Take care of yourself, Gill. By the way, how do you check/get a site meter? Sounds like a good idea.

Your arm looks painful Gill, hope it soon calms down. I had a similar reaction as to an anti histamine I took a few weeks ago, slept for 12 hours! A x

Thanks for the site meter website, Gill and sorry that my last post went on twice. Silly me!

Hi Gill! I was in your neck of the woods, this past weekend.. (went to Orangeville to get some pills that I can't buy around here, and then my adult daughter and I had a fantastic weekend getaway over in Barrie -- including spa treatments :D)

drove right near your house, and thought "hey I should stop in and meet Gill", but then I thought.. "would that make her feel like I was stalking her lol" .. so I drove on by.. but next time, I'll send you and email ahead of time and we can arrange to meet up!

as for the site meters.. my husband loves seeing where people are reading our blog from.. like Romania.. he is always checking the stats lol

I'm like you as well.. I wish more people would just post an "hi, I'm from *this place*, ... just out of curiosity

We got rain!!!!!! After all the 100+F, it's a relief. Of course, next week they'll all be complaining about needing to mow grass again, but maybe the herds will be saved. Take good care of that bite, Liz

That is one of the things I love about living in town, way fewer mosquitoes!!! You can try putting apple cider vinegar on your bites, that might help take the edge off!

Holy moly!! Hope that goes away soon! Put some tea tree oil on it...we do on ours & it works wonders!

Gill, it looks like a black fly bite to me, that is the same way I react. They seem to be very bad this year. Hope it is feeling better soon.
Will look into the site meter. Thanks\Patricia

Streuth Gill! What on earth did that? It looks terrible. Didn't you go to the doctors? Hope it goes away soon but take care as it might be infected.

Benadryl is one of the worst for making you groggy. You might try a different antihistamine, like Reactine. I have environmental allergies (pollen, ragweed, grass, mould), so I have tried a great variety of antihistamines and have experienced that grogginess many a time with different products.

Hope your bites feel better soon.
