Touch of Spring in the air........

Wednesday was actually a lovely day, cold but very sunny.......it was even warm enough for me to clean windows inside and out.  Not all of them, but just a couple, however that is a sign for me that things are getting warmer.  Now knowing my luck we will be dumped on with snow by this time next week!!

The squirrels were busy raiding the bird seed and enjoying themselves in the sun.  It kept Molly out of mischief for ages, watching "Squirrel TV."

Just before Christmas I bought this Cyclamen on the "rejects" rack in a big box store.  It was half dead but I have managed to bring it back to life and now look at the wonderful flowers it has.
Also, my "Christmas Cactus" is flowering again, one day it will get it's timing right!!!
Busy on Wednesday painting the ceiling in the bathroom.   Did two coats, but will have to do a third coat as it's looking streaky/patchy which sucks.  Luckily though it doesn't take very long to paint it.  I hope to have the third coat painted, some patching completed and the first coat on the walls on today.

Dh is busy putting down the plywood floor in the attic.  The original floor is in rough shape, so we decided to lay the plywood on top of the original floor and then we will put carpet in there.  The goal is to have all the attic finished by the end of April.  I will take photos when it is all completed, when you see the before and after photos, you won't believe the changes we have made.

My grandmother kept her Christmas cactus in the closet part of the year, but I never understood all the timing on the blooms. Anyway, it's certainly pretty! ~Liz

The squirrels are multiplying in my garden, I think the message went round the neighbourhood. Hubs is threatening to withhold their nuts now that the weather is warming up. There's a nest of bluetits in the box right outside my kitchen window - sure sign that spring is on the way.

The crows are back! That is the first sign for us that Spring is on it's way..even though it's snowing today! We'll know for sure that Spring has arrived once the redwing blackbirds come home.

Touch of spring you say...It's -27C here right now and going to get colder the next several days. If I don't see spring pretty soon I think I'm going to scream. It's the end of Feb. for crying out loud. I guess though considering what other countries in the world are going through right now I shouldn't complain.

We have tons of squirrels all year long. They are funny to watch. Last summer one fell out of the tree, got up and climbed right back up. Hilarious to say the least. Hugs

I planted a pink cyclamen out under our pine trees many years ago. It blooms with the most lovely pink blooms when everything else is going to sleep for the winter.

Window-cleaning is a sure sign of spring. Or spring wishes.

My windows really need cleaning...but going to be a while. We have a wintry mix forcast for tonight...with up to one or two inches of snow. At least it should not last long with things have warmed up above freezing....

Yeah, I think I jinxed Montreal by saying it was feeling like spring and posting a picture of daffodils yesterday because there are TWO storms heading this way, one for tomorrow and one on Monday. Me and my big mouth, ugh!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing your attic and good for you for the flowering plants, one of my orchids has buds on it too!

Pretty sky--love the pink shades. Your Christmas cactus might be a little late, but a flower is a flower---it's great whenever they bloom. Mickie

Glad you might start to thaw out soon. Our heatwave seems to be going on forever, it the second hottest summer ever (since records began 125 yrs ago anyway). Next few days are forecast to be 38oC, 38oC, 37oC, 35oC, 38oC, 37oC. Too hot!
