While I was searching for songs for the blog I came upon this one.........talk about stop in my tracks.......flash back to my youth and yes I had that hairstyle too!!! I have a feeling only the British Crew will remember this one though?
"Yes Sir I Can Boogie," by Baccara
I also stumbled up this; Beyonce singing "At Last." What a voice she has. I have never heard of this movie "Cadillac Records,' I must mention it to the kids and see if they can "get" it.....I never ask where they pick up dvds........wink, wink!!
this is another song from that movie(warning there is a bit of bad language in it to start with):
I have been suffering with "tooth ache" for the past week, except its not my teeth, but my gums that have been bothering me. As we are due for a winter storm on Wednesday and I have been in pain for so long, I decided Tuesday would be the day to go to the dentist.
So they did an x-ray and found nothing. He dug in the gums, and found a tiny bit of gunk in there, but otherwise nothing. Told me to get on with it, and it should settle down in a few days...........the cost $28........well that's how much I had to pay, luckily we have insurance that covers the other 80%. I think this is what is giving me my headaches.
Not a fan of Mariah Carrey, but I do like this version of "All I Want for Christmas."
I am a British born, living in Canada since May of 1989. My blog is about all aspects of my daily life.

OMG!!!!! That really does take me back to boogie-ing at the local disco's!!!!! Thanks for that...xxx
ooh Boogie Woogie !
the two ladies are Divas fab strong voices. My fave rendition of " All I want for Christmas is you " is the little girl singing it in the film " Love Actually " what a powerful voice - I wonder what became of her... does anyone know her name ?
I heard The Pogues & Kirsty Mc Call's Christmas song again yesterday - what a giggle.
Yes, I remember my Mum listening to "yes sir" and singing along!
Did you realise there is a little bit of "language" in the 2nd Beyonce video? (just thinking of Mums with little ones around like me)
Hope you get over your toothache quickly.
Not just the British - I remember that disco song too.
Thanks Gill: now I AM late for work LOL. good way to start the morning tho'. I don't actually remember the Baccara song that much. But that year I had a baby so I wasn't out dancing that much. Loved the Beyonce ones.
:-))
Love the Blast from the Past!
Hope you feel better soon!
Have awarm and cozy day!

Gill, left you a picture of tumbleweed. Got up this morning to find one about five by four wedged into the garden by my front porch. When it's still rooted, it's called Russian thistle. DH dragged it out where the wind could send it on it's way before it dropped more seeds in the garden . . .. Hope you've found the cause of your headaches. That's no fun, especially in cold weather. God bless you!

Gosh, I hope your gums and head get better. Sometimes all it takes is the tiniest bit of food stuck under a tooth to cause a whole lot of trouble...
In other news, the storm is upon us, it just started snowing here, 25-35 centimeters for us today, but heading more for 35 apparently. One White Christmas, coming right up!
A nice selection of videos there Gill. I've been meaning to say how much I have enjoyed the Christmas videos in your posts. Hope your toothache settles down after your trip to the dentist.
Little Drummer Boy has been my all-time favorite Christmas song since I was in the second grade. There is just something about it that completely grabs my heart.
I like the Bowie / Crosby version, too. But, I chose an acoustic version by Paul Adams for my blog's theme song this month.
Thanks for sharing the video, Gill!
Hope you dental troubles are over (and the headaches too!) Great videos :)
Hi! Was so pleased to see that you had left comment after finding my humble blog and my post about my new found love of making purses and the ones that I just finished. We are much alike, having traded living spaces across the ocean, you from here to there and me from there to here many years ago. it does take some adjustment in the beginning! I was a city gal too but eventually got used to living in the country here in germany. now i can not picture going back. by the way, love all these songs that you found, especially the At Last song from beyonce. What a great song!!! have a good Mid-week, I will be back again. warmly, Debby
You know, I had some problems with a tooth a while back - also below the gumline. I was brushing, I was flossing, I was water-pic-ing, and it just kept being sore. I figured I had a cavity below my gumline, but then one day, completely unexpected, I flossed out a piece of popcorn hull. It must have been right snug against my tooth, where the brushing/flossing/squirting couldn't loose it. Ew! Also yay - because I would have been so upset to pay the dentist to extract it!
Yes Gill, I agree it's a great song and her singing is so effortless. I used to sing "At Last" at weddings sometimes, it's still popular.
Gasp! No Christmas pudding?! Do you have a traditional sweet in it's place?
don't know any of them lo,l! couldn't load your blog earlier, you must have been changing the pic. sorry about the toothache
I hope your dental treatment was successful. We've been watching the snow storm warnings from out here on the west coast. Sounds like you're in for a snowy time.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
