A farmer's work is never done.........

Back in August I did this post, and it included the photo below of the farmer combining his field
Fast forward to October and he's now plowing that field.
If you look closely to the far left of this photo behind the tractor you'll see his dog following behind him,(click on the photo for a better look). I can't remember the dog's name, but he was a rescue dog and he's a male and not the friendliest dog around!! However he loves his owner to bits.
These are not the best of photos, as I had Molly with me on leash, and she was pulling like a crazy woman AGAIN!!

On Friday I spent the day trying to clean the house. I feel as though I am fighting a losing battle, as by the next day everything is covered in dust. I am still fighting the flies as well. They are not in the hundred's anymore, but there are still plenty about. I wonder when I will see the last of them?
We have ds here for the day (Saturday), so both him and dh are going to tackle some more jobs in the attic. There is light at the end of the tunnel, maybe only a small little light but at least its not pitch black dark in there!!!
Have a super weekend.

Gill, we have these things here (I'm sure you do there, as well) that are called fly bags. They have something inside which when you had water smells like decomp (and believe me I know what decomp smells like) and it attracts the flies. The trick is not to hang the thing on the porch where it will attract even more flies, but about 100 feet from the house (or at least 50 feet) so it will draw them away from the house and to the bag where they will be trapped . They are amazing things...we go through about 5 a season...you just make sure to add water weekly to it till you close it up to discard it and hang the new one. Good luck!

That's what we see everywhere here too. They haven't finished yet and are now concerned because of the snow we've had and the frost. I hope they can get the fields finished before too much damage is done to the grains.

Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.

Tell me about it! Whenever I clean my house it is covered already in dust by the day after.

Loved the pictures of the tractor and the dog. It does look dry and dusty but then I suppose it would in the field. Sorry you're having all those flies. Our flies have gone now, and so have the bees and wasps. All that is left are some little harvest mice, looking for a warm place for the winter.
Blessings, Star
