its here for us now. Dh started his vacation time today, and has a whole three weeks off. Not that we're going away this year.....sob, sob :0( But you can't have it both way, spending money on renovating the house and spending money on going away. Its a case of either or this year. We are planning on having the odd day away, but the attic will be our main port of call for the next three weeks, we have to get some more work done on it and soon.
On one of the sites I go onto they had a thread on having an Organized Christmas and this site has a ton of information for you. Oh and best of all it's FREE!!!! I printed out the Master Gift List and worked on that on Friday. Me and my step-mum took your advise from this post and we're getting one another gift cards. Infact I think most people will be getting gift cards off us this year. One, I'm too busy to trail around looking for stuff, two I rarely go to the malls anymore and three, I am fed up with buying/making gifts that aren't appreciated!! Gift cards are generally welcomed by most folk; and I just love receiving them!!
Now back in June or July, I forget which month we were plagued with blue bottles in the family room. I know I posted about it, but can't find the post. Anyhow, they're back AGAIN. This time they're upstairs and they are very dopey. I am sweeping them up off the floor. I gave upstairs a good clean on Friday morning. Go back upstairs a bit later on, and there were more dead on the floor. We think they are coming from the attic but not 100% sure. I am sure they will go away soon, just like the ones did earlier in the year.

Okay when you say blue-bottles I think of a mole. And I think the reason I think that is because I used to play a video game with my kids called Banjo and Kazooie and the mole in it was called Bottles.
So anyway I am picturing you sweeping moles off of your floor and I am as confused as all get out.
Enjoy your "working" holiday!
enjoy your 'staycation'. i'm sure you will enjoy just being home and getting things done, plus some days out. :-)
A blue bottle is a house fly.....
Gill
Gill I didn't have a clue has to what a blue bottle was either. Learn something new everyday. It's that time of year when they come in, trying to find a place for winter. They drive me nuts.
Have a great "staycation". They are all the rage this year.
Gill blue bottles in australia are in the ocean so i have to admit when I read your post I did a double take and had a little chuckle. Thanks for clarifying for me ;-)
Is that an English thing 'blue bottle'? I knew what you meant straight away. From what I remember, they are bigger than the usual fly right? I think you're still going to have a good time even if you don't go away, especially with your husband home on vacation. You'll be having a fun working on your home, great satisfaction seeing it all come together.
gill i deal with old homes and as the weather turns they will come out of the walls. there are strong products out there that will kill them a bit but , to be honest, there really is no way to deal with them.
A blue bottle in the UK is a big, fat, house fly. Horrible things.
If you're feeling homesick, come and visit my blog - I'm a British author. My books are set in the UK anyway.
