Instant Pot, decluttering and Netflix........

Remember my Instant Pot post from Tuesday?  It seems everyone who has one loves it and uses it.  I am still on the fence, so will wait until the Black Friday sale in November and revisit the idea.  I think I can manage to live without one until then.

I am still working away at decluttering.  I have been trying to sell a number of unwanted items online with mixed results.  We have a local Facebook site for our area.  I have to shake my head at some people.  They are all gung-ho wanting your items and then just muck you about.  Other people its a simple transaction that goes by without a fuss.  Having a yard sale is a no, no where we live, another one of those delightful rules we must abide by........

Loving Netflix still.  We are now on season 9 on Midsumer Murders, and every episode we say, "we didn't see that coming!!"  We have yet to figure the plot out on any of those episodes........LOL

My mam had a big birthday last week.  Here is one of her cakes; my younger brother had this one made for her:

When you ask her how she is; she always says "I'm fine."  And she is always cleaning, that's why there are all the cleaning items on the cake.  Love Mrs. Brown.

Happy Easter.......

Our son's birthday cake.  Dairy Queen special, ice cream cake.  I didn't have any as I don't like it.
Chicken scratchings on my black board in the kitchen.  It is a DIY project that dh and son-in-law are doing.  They were working out the in's and outs.  It's happening at their house not ours.
A Calla Lily that we were given on Easter Saturday, very pretty.
A close up of the flowers.
Hope you have a wonderful and Blessed Easter.

Thank you

for all your birthday wishes yesterday.  I had a lovely day and was thoroughly spoiled.

One of the things dh bought me was a lovely bouquet of flowers.

We went down to dd and, ds and partner joined us.  We had a lasagna, Cesar salad and garlic bread for lunch.  They bought me a lovely birthday cake, white sponge cake with mini brownies on top.
Our little Munchkin had a peanut and jelly sandwich, cheese and blueberries for her lunch!!
A good day made even better by being with the family.

12 Months old and 2 Months old........

Both grand children celebrated milestones this week.  Our little Princess turned a year old on Sunday.  Hasn't the year just flown by?

On Sunday they had a little party for her and this was her birthday cake.  You know those programmes that feature the fancy cakes, well this cake looked like one of those.  It was stunning and it tasted yummy.  It was a chocolate cake with almond butter icing.  Her name means "Having Deep Roots," that is why they made the tree trunk and she loves animals.

Today our Miss Nora turns two months and is a whopping 10 lbs 8 oz.  She was 6 lbs 1 oz when she was born.
The latest craze is "Baby Mugging," and here is Miss Nora's contribution!!!

Friday the 17th of January is 2nd Annual Ontario Blogger's DAY you can read more about it here.  Hope to see you there!

A couple photos........

I was lucky enough to have two birthday cakes on the weekend.  This one our little Princess' mother made for me.  It's a Hot Milk Cake and the recipe is from here.

This one dd made and is a carrot cake with cream cheese icing and it was really, really good.
Our little Princess was all in black on Friday(one of her Indian grannies is in the corner of the photo):

Here she is all bundled up ready to go home:

One of the things I did on Monday was stitch my latest block for the Quilting Club, it's called Indiana Puzzle.  I have never done a square in a square block before:

Finally we have a starling with a broken/damaged foot hanging around.  If I am supposed to do something please let me know?

This is the daughter of one of the guys at work singing. She is still in High School I think, so around 15 or 16 years of age. She is really good. I was singing along to this one, for some strange reason I didn't sound the same???

They're back and a look back at an old post..

The mice are back, caught two overnight on Friday night.  We're a bit puzzled as to where they may be getting in, but figure it could be through the new basement.

I had a few packets of Ramen Noodles in the pantry that I decided to donate to shelter.  I also wanted to print a recipe to include with the packages that I had used before and is pretty easy to make and very budget friendly.  I found the recipe on this post I did a while ago with a number of other links of budget friendly recipes.  Thought for anyone who is relatively new to my blog, it may be worth a peek.

The kids came up on Saturday to do a couple of jobs for us and to celebrate dh's birthday, which is on Monday.  Dd made her dad a cake.

She did a good job, although I must say the cake was very sweet.  I am in charge of making her birthday cake in November, so will have to figure out what to do.

We all went out for dinner last night at a road side diner just down the road.  Place is a bit rough, but the food is good, and its makes a change from the usual chain restaurants.

I am going to be busy on Sunday, because as per usual I have left it to last minute in making my quilt blocks from the block of the month club.  The meeting is on Tuesday and I have stuff planned for Monday, so Sunday is the only day left to do them.........

Enjoy your Sunday.

Imperfect.......

(credit) I think that quote says it all.......as no one is perfect and this world is far from being perfect, at least in my eyes.
