Books........

Here are a couple of books I have just read.  The War Librarian by Addison Armstrong and  The Hollywood Governess by Alexandra Weston.   Both are good in their own right and both highlight gender prejudices.  I think I preferred the The War Librarian better as I didn't figure out the twist in the story, whereas I figured it out in The Hollywood Governess.

My next book up is Come Fly With me by Helen Rolfe.  It's the first book in Skylark series.  I have never read anything by this author.  Have you?

Update: from when I originally wrote this post I have read this book and it was really good, plenty of action in it.  I need to look out for the rest in this series.
All three books were purchased at Indigo in the 3 for $10 section.

Daughter picked up this diamond art project for me on clearance.  Not sure if I should start it now or leave it until the colder weather appears?

What are you reading at the moment?

I’d definitely start the crafting when it’s cold. Keep you occupied during the long cold days

I'm just on the last couple chapters of Yellow Face by Rebecca F. Kuang. Really enjoying it, read over a couple days.

The War Librarian sounds especially interesting to me. RIght now I'm reading "The Summer Guests" by Tess Gerritsen and just finished "French Braid" by Anne Tyler (which i wasn't crazy about.)

Thank you for the book reviews. I'm always searching for new-to-us authors. I highly recommend 'The Women' by Kristen Hannah if you haven't read it. Also 'The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek' by Kim Michele Richardson is very good. And 'Wayward Girls' by Susan Wiggs is really good too.

Although I'm currently reading a book of essays, I'm going to say I'm between books. Not worth talking about. Sigh. Excited for the next ones though: Stephen King's Long Walk & Maggie O'Farrell's Hamnet.

I officially have zero time to read a book right now. But once in awhile I break out the kindle and re-read something because I don't really have to focus if I've already read it. Reading was my favorite activity for a large portion of my childhood and I still love to read. One of my good friends writes for educational publishers, she has over 400 titles.
