This is what we ate as kids and to this day, these meals make our mouth's water. Though I will say we never had bread and dripping, but bread and jam was good. I love liver and onions, if it's on a menu I will have it. I always soak my liver in a bit of milk before cooking it, as it can be bitter sometimes. Now I am craving liver and onions, gravy, mashed potatoes and peas.
Are these meals familiar to you?

We love liver and onions too, I don't think it's something that the younger generation would consider cooking. We used to have dripping on bread, beef dripping with the black bits was the tastiest.
Thank you for sharing. I’m off to watch this video.
I like liver and onions, and we also had dripping on bread for tea. I lived on a farm, so chickens were often on the table. Dad, had ferrets and would take them rabbit hunting, so rabbit was also on the menu. We had a big garden for veg also black current and gooseberry bushes. As I remember there was also lots of food and that was in the late 40's and early '50's.
Bread and jam, yes. I'll definitely pass on the liver and onions!
Love liver and onions!! No, I never had bread and drippings either. But my dad loved sugar sandwiches. I hated beans as a kid, but having them tonight. Still love a hamburger stew. Yes, mom made rice pudding. Chips and eggs are still a big favourite here.
Yes, I well remember bread and jam and bread and dripping.
I still enjoy liver and onions ... and often add a slice of bacon too!
All the best Jan
Love liver and onions here. We have always had it with bacon and soaked in a bit of milk before cooking. Liver lately looks terrible and I really miss having it on the menu.
God bless.
Nope, no liver on my menu thank you very much. Onions are good though. A staple in my house growing up (at least in the summer) was peanut butter/lettuce/mayo sandwiches. Still love them.
