Wednesday is a bit busy for me........okay.....

So I pick up this little guy after daycare once a week. He comes back to our house and stays for his supper:

The first week I picked him up on a Tuesday.  The next week it was Wednesday, because I had a dentist's appointment.  That day we walked to the pond, and this was how the conversation went:

Me: "I'll pick you up next week on Wednesday."

Liam: "No you need to pick me up on Tuesday."

Me: "Why?"

Liam: "I am a bit busy on a Wednesday."

Me: "Okay; so Wednesday's a busy day for you?"

Liam: "Yes."

This from the mouth of a 3 year old who generally doesn't know what day it is!!!  So Tuesday it is then!

Then this little guy is already 4 months old!!

He's going through "I love Mommy the best of all," stage!!  We all love him to the moon and back; even when he is grumpy!!

Model Railways and Liam's haircut

Last weekend our local library hosted the local model railway club and they set up a display.  As I had the girls and we always go to the library this was an extra bonus seeing this display.

Unfortunately none of the photos are very good but it will give you an idea of what there was.  I personally know nothing about trains and model railways but do like to watch them.

This display was not child friendly and making sure two sets of hands didn't touch anything; plus making sure they didn't fall off the chairs they were standing on so they could see was not an ideal situation!!

The guys (they were all men) although pleasant were not used to dealing with women and children I think.  I mentioned something and then got a very detailed explanation lasting at least five minutes or more; most of which flew over my head I'm sorry to say.  However it was very kind of them to set up this display for the general public.

I went and got my hair cut on Christmas Eve morning and when I had finished who should be there in the waiting area but Liam and his dad.  As they were next in line I waited with them and helped keep Liam occupied while he was getting his hair cut.  He has had his haircut numerous times, so doesn't scream the place down!!  He has just turned 19 months old.
He's still a red head..............

1st Birthday Party......

Our little man turns one on Monday.  They had his birthday party on Saturday.  It was baseball themed.  He has 7 teeth and can take the odd step.  Can't believe how fast this year has gone by.

Here is one of the three cousins together:

A good time was had by all.

Lovely kind comments.......

Thank you all for your lovely kind comments yesterday with the scary bunnies.  On Tuesday after I did my housework, I set about finding another bunny pattern and sewing some more bunnies.  I found this pattern for a Snuggle Bunny and I love it.  They are so cute, and best of all I made them all with flannel I had on hand.  The poor bunny on the left's nose is upside down!!

Daughter-in-law gets together with some friends who have children all a similar age, so I'll drop over all the bunnies to her for the babies.
I then decided to make Liam a small messenger bag.  He is now starting to put things in and out of containers, so thought that the bag would help him with his dexterity.  I put one of the regular children's messenger bag next to his to show how much smaller his is.  There is a little velcro dot to fasten it.
Then I decided to tackle another of Carla's Slimline Wallets.  I had a little bit of fabric leftover from my slingalong bag.  I decided to use a piece of black/blue linen I had on hand for the outside.  I love this one.

All in all I had a good day.  Got housework done, found time to sew and then the sun actually came out later in the day!!!

All about Liam..........

Our little man was 11 months the other day.  He is growing up so fast.
I made him a bunny when he was born.  However due to it being his go too toy that he sleeps with it has now seen better days.  So I was asked to make him something else.  I had a number of flannel scraps leftover from another project and some felt, so I made him a monster.  It had to have ears on it, as that is what he chews on!!  It is lightly stuffed so it is light enough for him to cart around with him.

Liam has 6 teeth, which he is very proud of.  He likes to make sure they are nice and sharp and chews on his crib to sharpen them.  So I was asked to make something to cover the top rails and this is what I came up with.

Gosh it's been nearly 3 months.......

Where has the time gone too?  The older I get the faster time flies by I find.

When I last posted our son and daughter-in-law had just moved in with us while their house was being renovated.  On May 27th our daughter-in-law gave birth to their first child a little boy called Liam John.  Here he is on his 1 month "anniversary."  The red hair comes from my dad's side of the family and I think he resembles his mum.

We were so lucky to have them at our home for another three weeks after he was born.  It's a once in a lifetime thing to have your newborn grandson live with you.  They moved out after three weeks, as their home was "livable," at that point.

A month on the contractor is still at their house and still busy working.  It's a family joke now, that we think he'll still be there when Liam starts school!

Our other big news is that we put the house on the market this week (Tuesday).  So far we have had one real estate agent look round for their client.  We have high hopes we will have some people looking over the house this weekend.  As we live in an "Active Adult Community," and we pay condo fees, our home will not appeal to everyone.  The real estate market has been slow so far this year, so we are not sure if we will find a buyer or not.  We don't HAVE to move, but we would LIKE to move.  If we have to stay here another year it's no problem.

There are many reasons we want to move; too many to go into here.  We have no idea where we are going, as we want to see if we get sell.  Dh, is thinking about retiring, but is still not 100% sure, so that also makes it difficult to figure out how much to spend and where we should live.  However, we have plans drawn up for either scenario; plus financially we have been planning for both options for a couple of years now.  It's always good to get your "ducks in a row," as they say when it comes to life decisions that involve money!

Summer is upon us here, so I have been hibernating, as the hot flashes along with the heat are not my friends.  Been busy knitting and sewing.  Just sent off a birthday box to a little girl in Nunavut; will tell you more about that in another post.

The two "N's" both finished junior kindergarten at the end of June and both got excellent report cards.  They move up to senior kindergarten in September and Sammy will also start junior kindergarten in September.  It just seems like yesterday that Sammy was born???

Jeina and Paige both turned 2 in May and June respectively.  Both had birthday parties with numerous other little ones attending.  Both had bouncy castles in their back yards and lots of screaming and shouting!  Came home with a present from Paige's birthday party; both dh and I ended up with nasty summer colds.  Not sure which one of the little darlings was sick😕 I swear toddlers are walking germ factories!

Looking forward to hearing what you have been up too?

I am turning into an old person....LOL

Do you remember when you were a teen and your parents and grandparents were always giving you "advise," and you secretly or not s...
