Gardening

Here is a link to the article.  For some reason the whole picture above wouldn't copy over.  I am in zone 5 a/b so this applies to me and I will make a point of trimming down what I have in my garden.

I have bought a bunch of Spring bulbs to plant, but honestly it's still too warm here, so I will wait until early October to plant those.

2025's gardening season was a bust, due to the hot dry weather we had.  Our grass took a beating and honestly it looks terrible.  The only saving grace in this, is that so does everyone else's.

I enjoy having a garden but I am finding I don't have the same interest in it, that I used to have.  I will not let it go to rack and ruin, but I need to find more ways of making it more self sufficient, the older I get.

Are you a gardener, and are you finding it harder the older you get?

Unfortunately my garden was a bust this year too. 😢

Our Summer has been great which has meant lots of things have done way better than normal, although the watering has been hard work. I'm the one who takes care of the garden here, hubby has no interest but will "help" if asked. At some point we will need help but as long as I can I will carry on, at 63 I don't consider myself old yet, lol and I'm a firm believer in doing whatever you can until you physically can't. It tires me out quicker than it used to but that won't stop me yet 🤣

I need to do the same. This year I cut back on containers of flowers and I hope to cut back a bit more next year. Getting to old to spend an hour or more making sure they are watered.

God bless.

The RC's balcony garden was pretty much a bust too. He's fed up with carrying water out there several times a day and has vowed that next year he'll only plant a few herbs and maybe some lettuce. It's just too difficult anymore for him to carry water to that extent. The tomatoes all had blossom end rot and only a few at that and the same for the peppers. Not worth the hassle when we can buy them at the farmers market.

Always plenty to do in the garden.

All the best Jan

Imperfect.......

(credit) I think that quote says it all.......as no one is perfect and this world is far from being perfect, at least in my eyes.
